Ok so now that it is getting colder we have mice. The other morning I woke to my kids yelling "Mitten's has a rat" lol it was a very small mouse. It was dead so I got it from my kitten and tossed it. Well right now my kitten has gotten another mouse, this one is still alive. I don't know what to do. Do I let the kitties play with it or do i try and get it away from them, if I do then what do i do? Won't it just come back?

i am so not the person to deal with this, I hate all critters..spiders, mice, snakes they all weird ,e put a bit but of course the husband is at work and I'm the only one awake.

Any advice is appreciated

I would have hoped you got it away from the cat and well our preferred method is smashing it.

Then you watch the cat and find out where they are coming in and see if you can find nests so you can destroy them.

Well, we have cats for "mouse control" and we let them do their job and enjoy their "spoils".
They'll play with it for a little while and then eat the mouse. If you don't want it in the house, then make them take the mouse outside.

Our cats haven't caught one in the house yet, but I've been able to re-direct them with a broom when they brought a bird in the house.
Good luck!!

oh, sorry for that! :confused3 most of women can't deal with that

Seriously? :confused3:sad2:

Op our cats bring us all kinds of gifts, they do it because they love you and that's how they show it. :) Other then the usual purring and laying all over whatever you're working on. :) I usually try to herd them back outside when they bring something alive in tho. I've also been known to pick up the mouse by the tail and carry it outside, of course the cats follow along but they usually get the picture. If you do pick it up carry it by the tail and wash your hands thoroughly when you're done. :)
