Hi!
I am a newbie to DCL and we are booking our first cruise - the Mar 4 MR sailing. We are going to book 2 connecting deluxe oceanview rooms. Can someone explain the difference between 9B and 9A - it seems like it's just the location? What are the advantages to being on a higher deck?

Thanks!

We normally book the Cat 9's on Deck 2 (prefer mid-ship but would take forward or aft as well. Love the location, quite easy to get to everything. Some feel the higher up the better on the ship but that stems from long ago cruising days when steerage was in the bottom of the ship...that is not the case any longer. I like being close to the water when I look out my porthole.

Cabins would be identical...the only exception would be the cabins on Deck 1 of the Magic and Wonder have 2 smaller portholes versus the Cat 9's one large one on Deck 2 and above.

My DW and I have taken 4 disney cruises. Before our first one, I called Disney Cruiseline directly and asked them if a category 9A was worth the extra money as compared with a category 9B. The cast member was honest and told me to save my money and to book a 9B. She said the difference was slight and was not worth the extra money.

We have therefore always booked a 9B and have always been thrilled.

Good luck!!!

I'm also a newbie. This past Aug/Sep was our first cruise on the Dream. We had a b2b and we were in a 9B Deck 2 for the 3 night cruise and 9A Deck 7 for the 4 night. Although, I liked the Deck 2 location (even though I was a bit nervous about it), I found the 9A room to be more spacious. And the porthole with the seating made the room seem so much larger.

I liked the size of the room and it worked well for my family of 4 (2A, 2C). So for us, it was worth the extra money especially if it's a longer cruise.

OP is sailing on the Wonder, so there is no difference in cabin size. It is just a matter of location. Another vote for deck 2 as you'll have the big porthole and it is a very convenient location. On the Dream, there is a difference in cabin size as well.
