Hello,
Just booked a Nov 2002 4 day cruise on DVC points. We booked a cat 6 and a cat 11 directly across the hall for my mil and teen son. We told the CM we needed our cat 6 cabin to sleep 4. It'll be my husband, 2 daughters and myself in that cabin. They assigned us the following : 6084 (cat 6) and 6085 (cat 11). Terrific location but here's my concern. I have an older TA's brochure of the DCL and the ship layout. On the page that shows the cabin numbers, it specifically lists cabins that will fit 3 or 4. Such as some cat 6 & 11 will only sleep 3 and some sleep 4. This chart indicates which of the cat 6's sleeps 4. My cabin number is not indicated as a "4" ? I was a little concerned about this so I phoned the CM back at Member Services and brought this to his attention. I explained to him that my girls won't want to be split up and that we must have our cat 6 sleep 4 (not 3). I know there is a Murphy-style pull-down bunk in the sleep 4's ? He put me on hold for about 1-2 min's and then came back on and said he "ran that cabin through the DCL's system" and it "indeed stated sleeps 4". Now I'm confused because this is not what my DCL brochure shows.
Two things came to mind.
1)This is a '98-'99 TA brochure. Maybe cabins have been changed ?
2) Are the Magic and Wonder cabins configurated the same ? Perhaps this is a layout of the Magic only----I don't even think the Wonder was up and running during '98-'99 ? I just assumed both ships had the same set-up in regards to cabins/locations/capacity.
Can anyone shed some light on this please ? I don't want to be disappointed in November when we may have to separate my two daughters. It's not an option to let them sleep in grandmom's cabin because they'll keep her awake---trust me on this. lol
thanks,
Maria

I didn't know there ever was a publication that showed which cabins slept 3 and which slept 4. That would be a great resource for folks on this board because lots of folks want to know which cabins are equipped for 4. But they probably discontinued the publication of that document because of inaccuracies... or perhaps because the Magic and Wonder are not identical in that regard.

That being said... they wouldn't have booked 4 people in a room that sleeps 3. They just don't do it. So I'd trust the CM you spoke with. Your room sleeps 4.

Your brochure is outdated, things do change, the Wonder is newer and does differ in some ways. If DCL's system says it sleeps 4, I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. But perhaps someone out there who has stayed in that cabin can respond?

There was in this '98-'99 brochure, but I have not seen this in more current brochures. I'm sure you must be right about them discontinuing the specifics re capacity of the cabins (though it would be a terrific resource to have this) due to differences in the Magic and Wonder's cabin layout or changes in general. This must have been a chart of the Magic. I'll go ahead and trust the CM on this then. Thanks very much for your replies Dave and taswira.
