Sound the death knell for another retailer: Casual Corner Group announced last month that it will close all of its 525 stores in 42 states and in Puerto Rico.
Casual Comer Group, which includes Casual Corner, Casual Corner Annex and Petite Sophisticate stores, began closing sales on Black Friday. Various reports have estimated that the retail-chain group will officially close its stores as early as January or February 2006.
However, Susan Cronin, spokesperson for Gordon Brothers, would not comment on the date for the official store closings. Gordon Brothers, a retail liquidating company, bought Casual Corner in August from Retail Brand Alliance, who sold it in an effort to focus more on its Brooks Brothers business...
