I am new to the boards and apologize if this have been covered before (I have not run accross the thread yet)...

Can you tell me what the CC reception is like? Is it worth the time? We are on the 4 night wonder in a couple of months.

THANKS :earsboy:

I've always thought it was worth the time. Mostly for the yummy appetizers and the free drinks!! LOL

Not that there is a shortage of food on the ship, but there were some very yummy snacks, and it is usually a late afternoon thing, so a great time for a drink and some appetizers. Also, the captain usually talks for a bit, about changes to the ship or other ship news. It is a good time if you want to take a photo with him, and not have to wait with the rest of the passengers.

If there is something else going on that you really don't want to miss, it is not a big deal. But it is a nice little perk. :)

Arewn't you only invited to the CC reception if you've sailed with disney before that's how it was on my cruise, it was worth the time when I went to it though met a lot of other teens that had spring break when I did on my cruise so that was good about it

What kind of drinks do they serve? Mixed or wine or beer or all of the above? I am hoping to go to this because it does sound like fun!

Thanks for the info!

Have you been on a disney cruise before this one?

Right, the CC reception is by invitation only to previous cruisers. They do ask that you bring your invitation.

The munchies are very good....the drinks are the same as at the captain's reception on formal night...rum something fruity with or without the rum.

The coconut shrimp is great.

This is our second cruise so I guess we will get an invitation upon check-in? Thanks!

Yes the drinks are free at the reception. They normally have Shirley Temples for the kids and Bahama Mama's or something of that nature for the alcoholic drinks.

You really need to get there pretty early to be able to sit in a good area to hear the Captain talk.

I agree with Jsme about getting there early. We arrived towards the last half of the reception time and most of the food was picked over and didn't have the opportunity to talk to the captain (or any other ship officers) or hear any of what he had to say. I believe the invitation tells you to stop by between a given time period, but I would definitely be there early or at the very beginning of the time frame.

Thanks for all the great info. Yes, we are CC memebers - we will be on our second cruise in a few weeks. DH will probably enjoy meeting the captain.
