We are on this cruise also, hoping for something new and special. Perhaps Hawaiian themed??? I have read sometimes on special cruises they may give out a little something extra maybe a lithograph or such.

Yes, the TA had a sling backpack as the CC gift (with an umbrella).

Does membership apply to kids as well? Is there minimum age? So if an infant cruises with their parents, is the infant automatically a Castaway Club Member?

Yes, once a child has completed one cruise, they are automatically a Castaway Club Member as well. But they only give one gift per stateroom. As long as a Castaway Club member is in the room that stateroom gets a gift. My husband and I are getting ready to take my grandson on his third cruise, so if he goes on a Disney Cruise with his parents he would automatically get a stateroom gift for being a Castaway Club Member. There is no minimum age.

what if different family members are at different levels i.e silver, platinum etc...?

The gift is based on the highest CC level in the room. But, still, only one gift per stateroom.

I'm an old timer. I got my first bag in 2005. It's my favorite so far. But I do like that yellow bag that was posted

When I went on the EB PC in 2005, we got a really nice red blanket with the DCL logo. I don't have any pics of it unfortunately. And I still use my keychains that I got in 2001 and 2012. Love them! This October will be my first Gold cruise, so I'm looking forward to the Gold gift. I'm glad to hear that the lanyards are softer now. The ones they had the last two cruises were so scratchy and uncomfortable I never wore them.

I just donated the bag I got in 2005 and the backpack from 2012 to the Goodwill as I never used them and am attempting to declutter my house. I cruised on the July 10th Dream sailing and got the silver beach bag. I like it, but wish it had a zip pocket on the inside. No dry erase board or anything else with it.

That blanket from the 2005 Mexican Riviera cruise is my favourite.

The Castaway Club, gifts are getting cheaper and cheaper. Even thought the bag was a little bigger and better quality than last year, all you get is the bag. Last year, I got posted notes, dry erase board with dry erase marker, and I believe a photograph magnet.
