Welcome to the September 2025 exercise thread, in which we'll be entertained by some scene-stealing sidekicks (I love a bit of alliteration). Those cute, cuddly and/or sassy Disney sidekicks that steal the show and usually your heart, no matter how short their appearance is.

If you’re returning, we’re excited to have you back! If you’re new, welcome to the team! Here’s how it works:

Each person chooses a time goal and posts minutes towards that goal as they exercise. You can post daily or just catch up when you can. You decide what movement counts towards your goal - which can be a nice round total for the month, a specific number that means something to you, or a calculation based on a target number of minutes per day. Since September has 30 days, here are some common conversions:

15 minutes/day = 450
20 minutes/day = 600
30 minutes/day = 900
45 minutes/day = 1350
1 hour/day = 1800

One of the special motivations of our Disney challenge is color changing! Page one will be updated with individual and team color changes as we make more and more progress:

10% - Blue
25% - Orange
50% - Purple
75% - Pink
90% - Red
100% - Green

We’re officially starting this challenge on September 1st, but if you don’t find the thread until later in the month, you’re still welcome to join! There's no better time than the present to start toward your goals!! Just post your goal and I’ll add you to the list. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions and to check out old threads to see what’s been going on.

New here but have lurked quite a bit. I had a summer that was very rough on my body due to too much ultimate (Frisbee), so I’d like to make myself more accountable for completing physio exercises and yoga. I’ll still be playing ulti once a week but want to focus this month on recovery more than anything.
Goal is 1450 (which is around 1 ulti game per week, 4 yoga studio classes, and 45 minutes weekly of physio exercises).

Hello and welcome! :welcome:

Ultimate Frisbee is something I didnt know existed, and even more surprised when looking it up that it exists in the UK!

It was a growing sport for a while but it feels like it’s stagnated a bit since the pandemic. It’s been keeping me fit for 15 years, though playing at a higher level than I’m used to this year has taken its toll. 🫠 Here’s to chasing balance in the fall!

+60. Somehow Sept 1 has lit a fire in me. 4 months until the end of the year, less than 60 days until Disney. Time to lock in and get stuff accomplished. Excited to prioritize what matters most and ignore the nonsense.

Then again, I spent today spray painting Loki horns for MNSSHP, so it could be the paint fumes talking. :rotfl2:

Morning everyone!

So a first sidekick of the month, and I may have been a little misleading with my initial post photo as not all of the ones featured will be on that 🙊, is...

Orville the Albatross, from The Rescuers:

Orville is a pilot for Albatross Air Service, who helps Bianca and Bernard get to Devil's Bayou to rescue Penny. Orville isn't particularly great at landings and his take-offs aren't much more successful either unless from a great height.

Orville is named after one of the Wright Brothers, who invented the first airplanes. Orville is voiced by Jim Jordan, who sadly died in 1988 which is why Orville did not appear in The Rescuers Down Under. Instead his brother Wilbur was introduced, who is named after the second Wright Brother and voiced by John Candy. Don Rickles, Elvis Presley and Burt Reynolds were among the people considered to voice Orville.

Some fun facts for you - Orville does the Goofy holler twice in the film, and he was also a walk around chararcter at the park around the time The Rescuers was released in 1977. Orville was originally going to be a pigeon, until animator Ollie Johnston recalled a film about albatrosses & how their take offs and landings were clumsy - you can see one of Orville's take-offs below:
