Castaway Club card...

My sister just showed me her Castaway Club card- plastic, looks room key size, has her family's names & castaway club ID numbers on it. I don't recall ever receiving one after my first sailing. What is the card for? Will I need it for anything this time around? Thanks!

They handed them out a long time ago, now they don't do that anymore. I'm not sure when they stopped handing them out, but there isn't anything special added for those that have them other than having a nice souvenir.

Call DCL and inquire if this is something new. Been a Platinum CC member for many years and never had one.

We got our cards after our first cruise (2008). They don't do that any longer, it seems. And there's really no need. If you log into the DCL site, and you're registered with a Disney account, the system knows who you are and that you have a CC number. But, it's not really used for anything.

We received ours in the mail a couple of months after our first cruise with DCL in April 2015. But yeah, never needed to take it out even when booking our new cruise.

I got one after first cruise......2008, paper though, not plastic.
No one else in the family has ever gotten one.

I have one, but it was because I became a CC member a loooong time ago. They stopped doing it awhile ago, it was an old school perk! Hahha!

We got one after our August 2015 cruise. I have no idea where it is now though.

Thanks everyone! She received hers after her 2014 cruise, and I didn't (my cruise was just a few months before hers). I guess it was a hit or miss thing? Anyway, glad to know I don't need it for anything- I checked, and my Castaway Club status is already listed on my cruise account.

Wow, had no idea they were still sending them out sporadically! We've sailed 6 times now, first one was in 2011 but still no card. We HAVE gotten some of the prints of ships and our Gold magnet though, so I count myself lucky anyway!

Hit or miss, just like everything else with Disney.

I checked, and my Castaway Club status is already listed on my cruise account.

And if you look at that number and then at the keycard for your cruise, you'll see you were actually assigned your CC number before you TOOK that first cruise.

We received ours in 1998 and a second one in 2000. We have only 4 numbers .Hahaha. I guess that's what you get for doing the maiden of the Magic .

Heck, even though I've paid for my entire family for 2 different cruises, I don't even get emails or snail mail addressed to me unless it has to do with billing/payments.....
Never got a card, a postcard, a thank you................zilch

I remember getting like a plastic/paper flimsy thing after our first cruise in 2013, it was the same card consistency as like what your health insurance cards are like... I remember pulling it out once to update my online account and then put it back in a drawer and now I have no idea where it is, haven't needed it since

They do still get them went on our first cruise in july and got ours last week

My card from first Wonder sailing was paper but they send us new plastic (paper thin) when they changed to 8 digit numbers.​

We cruised last month and got our card a few weeks ago. The enclosed letter mentioned the numbers were online in our account and included our Castaway Club car/fridge magnet.
