Castaway Club - card and pins questions

We sailed again and were hoping to get a set of the Mickey Castaway Club pins as we have the other two types given out. I was also hoping to get a new CC card with my name on it. (I usually book the cruises, so just would be nice have the card. ) Do they still send out the Castaway Club envelopes with the pins and card to previous members that sailed again? Second, my parent's were first time cruisers and haven't gotten any Castaway Club information. How long is it taking these days?

We took our first Disney cruise last November. We have never received any information on the Castaway Club. I did find the phone number, however, and was given a membership # when I called. To date, even though I've booked two more cruises, I've never received any pins, newsletters, etc.

Thanks for the info, Karen. I hope it's just that they are behind and not that they stopped sending out the packets. I found it exciting to get the pins after I cruised the first time. It was one of the cool things Disney did that made me a little more excited about them than Celebrity. But, Disney has such a huge return rate, maybe they don't think they need to do that anymore. I was shocked at how much the Castaway Club meetings on the ship have grown. It's quite amazing

We're getting ready for cruise #3 and while I do have a castaway club # (called and got it) we never received anything for a long time. Then I got an outdated isssue of the magazine and a survey to fill out. Was told pins and cards were on their way. That was 7 months ago. Glad all of Disney is not as slow as those running Castaway Club! LOL

I have also heard rumor that the Castaway Club onboard credit is going to be discontinued, or rather replaced with onboard booking offers. I am hoping that is not the case, as it would penalize compulsive planners like myself...we already have our seven Disney cruises in 2003 booked! So far, we aren't getting the Castaway Club credit on them...one DCL rep. told us it just hadn't been announced yet, and another said that it was being discontinued. On the ship, we were told it is probably being done away with, too, so I'm afraid that might be the case Too bad, as I need any help I can get with our spa bill! Oh well, at least we've got it on the remaining 7 for this year.

For those of you that have not received you Castaway Club Card and pins after sailing, I found it more effective to request for these items via the Disney website. After several phone calls to follow up for these items to no avail, I sent an message to Disney via the website and got a personal e-mail from a DCL rep stating my package is on the way!

dznybound...you wouldn't happen to have that email address on ya, would ya? I just spent about 15 minutes on the DCL site searching, searching, searching. The only highlited "email us" sent me to another site, not an email. Thanks

I also cannot e-mail DCL. It just sends you to another Q&A site. I guess they don't want to hear from us anymore. Anyway I had forgotten about my Castaway pins and newletters. I had called 6 months ago and was told I would be put on the list and recieve them in 2 to 3 months. Well it has been 6 and nothing. I called this morning after reading this post and once again they had no record of me although I gave them my Castaway number and it pulled up OK. She said she would once again fill out the paper work for me to recieve my pins and newsletter..smjj

dznybound - Have you received your package yet? We 1st sailed Aug 26th/00. After many phone calls and promises of the package being in the mail I received a form to be filled out April/01 with a magnet, it stated "Once the form had been filled out and returned, they would send us the pins and our cards". I hurried and sent it back to them the same day, and waited patiently for the pins to arrive with our membership cards. To this day I have yet to receive my pins and membership cards. I have received 1 outdated Insider, after another phone call. I think maybe I should call again and see what's up!

Barb - Do you know if you already have the shipboard credit whether it remains, or are they taking that away also?
