Reading the boards before our cruise I didn't expect to have an opportunity to enjoy a hammock on Castaway Cay unless I booked a Hammock Excursion.
I enjoyed hammocks at various places during the day. Apparently, there are now more hammocks than there were before.
My crew went on the stringray encounter 1st thing in the morning - so I relaxed in a hammock on that beach for a while while they did that.
We did move some stuff off of two different hammocks placed there by hammock hogs who weren't using the hammocks but who just wanted to make sure that no one else used "their" hammocks, to take some photos.
After exploring and eating and bike riding, we found a lovely little area on a secluded and quiet spit of land right next to the snorkle rental shack where we set up camp for a while to swing in a hammock and relax while some of our group snorkeled.
Hammock hogs are ridiculous. While I saw very few people actually enjoying hammocks - lots of hammocks were "saved". If you aren't in the hammock, don't leave your stuff on it to save it. Put your stuff on a chair. Nobody spends all day in (or is it on) a hammock anyway - you'll get rope prints imbeded into your back and legs. The novelty quickly wears off anyway. Leave the hammocks open for all to enjoy some time to relax.
