Castaway Cay questions

:rotfl:I must also look trustworthy as I get asked often to watch people's luggage at airports while they get something to eat or run to the restroom. I always do when asked, but I wonder how often someone gets burned by relying on a stranger to guard their stuff.

Yes I wonder! Sometimes after they go and leave me 'on guard' I think...but in my wheelchair if somebody does grab their stuff not like I can run after them is it lol....

I always find the concept of asking a stranger to watch your stuff somewhat amusing. How do you know that person is any more trustworthy than anyone else? By asking a person to watch your stuff, you're telling them you have something valuable and that you are going to be away and not watching your property for a while.

I think the chance of bad guys being next to people who are going to leave their items is pretty low. And the chance of those people not giving off ooky vibes is also low-ish. After all, Gavin deBecker suggests that lost children choose the person they want to ask for help, rather than waiting for an adult to offer. The child will probably choose well, but an adult offering is less likely to be trustworthy. Not sure I'm making sense, but deBecker makes sense when he describes it. And while adults have socialized themselves out of allowing us to feel uncomfortable about people, if someone is giving off a skeevy vibe I doubt the non-skeevy people will ask them to watch their stuff. :)

Limited pool chairs are a whole different situation than the chairs on the beach. People move the beach chairs all over, for instance. And there are tons of them.

I would just dig a hole and burry it ;) We actually are debating on trying for a cabanna (if we book concierge) if we dont I hope to find a good solution. On late night TV I seen a beach blanket towel type of thing that has a compartment that you do actually burry in the sand kimd of like a lock box cylinder and the blanket or towel is attached so it just looks like a towel. I cant remember the name of them

I bought a KYSS bag for our first Disney cruise and loved it. It has a lock and chain, and I used it on the boat and at CC. I still use it all the time after our cruise.

We don't take anything valuable off the ship and then leave our things on the chair. The only thing that would be awful to lose is prescription glasses but I bring an extra pair when on vacation.

Off topic sorry but wanted to add we taught our kids if they got separated from us in a store, etc. to ask a mom with kids for help.
