It seems like they're taking stuff away from Platinum already. Case in point, we did the Wonder with our girls for Thanksgiving. No tour was offered to us at all. For this one, I don't know if it was b/c we (my husband and I) were the only 2 Platinum guests on that cruise at all, so they didn't feel like it was worth it to offer to just the 4 (if any could be done w/ children; which is usually only the case if doing the stingrays on CC) or just the 2 of us in our stateroom. Who knows.

Then, when we were on our Spring Break cruise last month, again, no tour was offered to us for being Platinum guests. & The other amenities had changed as well. I noticed this b/c we usually selected the fruit & cheese plate to be delivered to our stateroom. That was not an option on that sailing. Maybe it was a fluke or maybe they've changed it for good. But out of the 5 food/drink type of options, the only thing we had any remote interest in were the truffles. & Even in order to receive those, I had to call to set up the delivery, even though the letter says someone would contact us about our Platinum amenities. **& Honestly, this isn't the 1st time that I've had to do the calling. ;) & After the fact, it wasn't really worth it to have the truffles any way b/c they weren't all that good; rather stale. & I know some other things had changed for Platinums in the letter of offerings on our Spring Break cruise, but I can't remember them all off the top of my head.

One thing that was nice though, in addition to the new over all CC Club gift change, we also had a change in the little extra gifts that are given out to Platinum members; they gave us 4 DLC logo baseball caps. That was a nice change, as my husband was actually in the market to buy a new ball cap on the cruise, so he didn't end up needing to buy one. And it worked out well for our youngest daughter b/c we were going to WDW for St. Patrick's Day and she'd had her hair braided on the ship, so she was able to wear one of the ball caps as well to keep the sun from burning her scalp. :thumbsup2

I'd be all for adding a new level, so long as the perks for lower levels weren't depleted and the perks for the new level were worth it.

Also, I think going to the # of nights sailed could be a good thing. I just added up how many nights I've sailed and if I did it correctly, over 16 sailings, I've sailed 107 nights.

I like the idea of being able to pick for a series of gifts that is a nice idea. I really don't need another bag. They should take a page out of DVC everytime we cruise we have gotten a different gift from DVC and we don't even use our points for the cruise. Last time we got a nice wooden box that was way better than the bag. For some families the bag is most pratical but others not.

They could have a standard option (bag etc) or a take your chances option (could be a number of different things like free internet, water bottles and sun care stuff from H2O, big bottle of H2O shamppoo and conditoner but the one from the resort not the one on the cruise etc.)

Plantinum level is going to get bigger and bigger as more people reach 10 cruises + and all the people already there have no other level to get to which would break up the group.

I like the gift choice option as well. :thumbsup2

[SNIP] I would really like something that I could use, like free Internet! That would be much better than the bag and that other stuff that I already have.

Free internet is very unlikely as DCL do not operate the satellite comms, and the cost to them from MTN would be very very high.
However they could maybe provide some inclusive minutes per CC level, say 30 minutes to Silver, 2 hours to Gold and 5 hours to Platinum?
And maybe even a reduced rate for extra minutes used afterwards?

What do you think?

Ex Techie :)

Oh yeah this is good... who really wants to spend the whole time on the internet anyways. But at least I could really use 30 mins or so to check some emails and communicate with the outside world.

Was just a suggestion!? (ducks and runs for cover :scared1:)

I know but this is a good suggestion, one that seems like it could be a realistic choice for DCL to offer.

I also agree with the other poster, I wouldn't mind them changing the CC levels but as long as they don't take more away from the current levels.

Of course the biggest thing I like about the levels is being able to book early for excursions and PAlos

Another vote for counting the # of nights.

I agree w/ jdb in AZ. We want to go somewhere not back back to the Bahamas. I love CC, but I like variety. I loved Alaska last year. Almost got to do Canada but the dates didn't work out.

We only do 7 day cruises & can only cruise in the summer w/ a limited window of when we can cruise thanks to kids in sports, summer school, etc. & being a :teacher: myself that can't take personal days to elongate a long weekend, Spring Break, or Christmas Break.

If something were to happen & I would not get back on time I'd get docked hundreds of dollars possibly closer to the thousand mark. And I'd get in big trouble! I just got a personal day turned down for Monday to attend a friend's funeral. My kids are devastated that they can't attend b/c I can't be there to sign them out of school.

Another vote for number of nights:dance3:
