It seems like they're taking stuff away from Platinum already. Case in point, we did the Wonder with our girls for Thanksgiving. No tour was offered to us at all. For this one, I don't know if it was b/c we (my husband and I) were the only 2 Platinum guests on that cruise at all, so they didn't feel like it was worth it to offer to just the 4 (if any could be done w/ children; which is usually only the case if doing the stingrays on CC) or just the 2 of us in our stateroom. Who knows.
Then, when we were on our Spring Break cruise last month, again, no tour was offered to us for being Platinum guests. & The other amenities had changed as well. I noticed this b/c we usually selected the fruit & cheese plate to be delivered to our stateroom. That was not an option on that sailing. Maybe it was a fluke or maybe they've changed it for good. But out of the 5 food/drink type of options, the only thing we had any remote interest in were the truffles. & Even in order to receive those, I had to call to set up the delivery, even though the letter says someone would contact us about our Platinum amenities. **& Honestly, this isn't the 1st time that I've had to do the calling.
& After the fact, it wasn't really worth it to have the truffles any way b/c they weren't all that good; rather stale. & I know some other things had changed for Platinums in the letter of offerings on our Spring Break cruise, but I can't remember them all off the top of my head.
One thing that was nice though, in addition to the new over all CC Club gift change, we also had a change in the little extra gifts that are given out to Platinum members; they gave us 4 DLC logo baseball caps. That was a nice change, as my husband was actually in the market to buy a new ball cap on the cruise, so he didn't end up needing to buy one. And it worked out well for our youngest daughter b/c we were going to WDW for St. Patrick's Day and she'd had her hair braided on the ship, so she was able to wear one of the ball caps as well to keep the sun from burning her scalp.
I'd be all for adding a new level, so long as the perks for lower levels weren't depleted and the perks for the new level were worth it.
Also, I think going to the # of nights sailed could be a good thing. I just added up how many nights I've sailed and if I did it correctly, over 16 sailings, I've sailed 107 nights.
