Castaway Cay changes

A lot fewer chairs, too. There is 6 feet between umbrella pairs. Still need to get your chair early or else after lunch.

While I saw a few characters on the island, I didn't see any photographers with them. There were photographers at the ship (where you get off and go through customs), but I didn't see them any further on to the island than that. Maybe they don't want people lining up for photos? I know they're bound by Bahamas masking laws, so it may have to do with that.

We had to wear masks on the trams and in the shops. They gave people masks if you didn't have one.

Was on the Dream 3 weeks ago-2 stops at CC-got so lucky that it just happened to be my daughters college break week-so much better than the Bahamas stop. Rented a Cabana both at the Family Beach and Serenity Bay. Hammocks at both cabanas. Chairs space very far apart at the Family Beach but Serenity Bay another story. Chairs very very close together. It's a toss up because SB water so much nicer.

I think the removal of the hammocks gave them more room to put chairs and umbrellas.
This. A lot of their Covid rules are arbitrary but I hear the chairs at Cc are spaced very particularly for Covid reasons and you’re not allowed to move them. It makes sense (sort of?) that removing hammocks would go with that spacing. What doesn’t make so much sense is that they space the seats at Cc but not on the pool deck of the ships

At one time, the Black Pearl ship from "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies was "moored" at Castaway Cay. Apparently, though, this was a full scale prop from the movies, so it didn't survive long. Still, when it was there, it really cause excitement for the DCL passengers.

Disney needs to build a replica of the Black Pearl to be permanently part of the Castaway Cay experience. Of course, the ship would have to be constructed so that it could withstand bombardment from the sun, surf, and the occasional hurricane.

It was indeed very cool, on the jetski tours you could go right up to it and check it out. It wasn't the Black Pearl, though, it was the Flying Dutchman, Davy Jones' ship from the movies.

Oh, I always thought it was the Black Pearl. Thanks for correcting me. I learned something new today!

Please save yourself $400.00 and do not do the "tour" when docked in the Bahamas. Due to Covid we were in one vehicle and the guide in another. Head phones stopped working halfway through and we did nothing but follow through a very unkept city. We shared this fact at the end of the tour. They just looked at us, smiled and shrugged and said they were sorry. The first highlight of the "tour" was them pointing out a gas station. NO KIDDING. Horrible waste of $$$ even if the headphones had worked. The rest of our cruise was exceptional!!
