Castaway Cay cast members hurricane evacuation.

To the mom of the CP on CC, just wanted to let you know I'm praying for your kid and fellow CMs and hope to hear good news from you soon. Hugs to you.

My issue is that the hurricane shelter is a last ditch survival means for the cast members if they can't be evacuated. DCL had the ability to take them off when the Fantasy was last there. Someone made a bad decision in this case. Our thoughts should be we those cast members and their families.

Besides speeding up clean up is there a reason to leave CMs on the island? What does it accomplish?
Is it because the Fantasy/Dream do not have the lifeboat capacity to take them all legally or
some other immigration regulation keeping them from bringing them (specifically international CMs) to the mainland?

We also have to remember not being s all in disney’s Fault or favor. When the last ship left it was projected at best to be a strong 3-4 at landfall so 3 realistically at CC which is plenty under the safety call. Dorian decided to stall and build and sending a craft into that to evecuate may not be a better option

Adding her to our prayers, my husband works at the Swan/Dolphin & we are headed there early tomorrow morning to ride out the storm, safer there than our home....prayers for all affected

Bottom line is we don't know any details of the Hurricane shelter, who stayed and if the volunteered no need to focus on that. This storm was not predicted to turn into the strongest ever in recorded history. I do believe everyone on the island will be fine.

The reality is there will no be any stops at Castaway Cay any time in the new future, most likely at least till next year, if not even longer. The majority of the buildings will be damaged severely if not completely gone.

Ok gang, this thread has run it's course. I tried cleaning it up as much as I could but at this point, I don't see anything productive coming out of it any more. Time to lock it up.

In the future let's try to be sensitive to other's feeling especially in a time of need like this. If all else fails, and things are upsetting you, don't go back to the thread in question.
