Wow, is this thread overdue on this board!!! :Pinkbounc

Sorry for the dementia that didn't think of this sooner!

Let's have this thread be home to our gratitude for those CMs who make our Disney Trips all that are, especially in the area of gay and lesbian pixie dust! pixiedust:

Let me start:

On our recent 20th Anniversary AKL Trip, believe it or not we were greeted at the front desk by a lesbian cast member who readily shared that she was gay and recently partnered with a terrific woman with whom she hoped to raise children, just like us!

Wow!!! I mean, how incredible! Did someone plan this??? How many lesbian CMs at AKL can there be??? :lmao:

In any event, she set the tone for the whole trip and I'll remember her forever (or until the dementia gets REALLY bad, which, hopefully, and on the upside, I wouldn't even notice).

But let me add a couple of others, both of whom happen to be regulars on this board.

OrlandoMike - you're the best! :thumbsup2 It's great to count you as friend!

ConcKahuna - thanks for the extra Magic pixiedust: and can't wait to meet, Oxygen tank or not! :rotfl2:

So, who do you all want to thank? Please tell us! :bounce:

Oh Lordy, don't get me started :lmao:
Last month I took my mentally handicapped bro to WDW,
stayed at the CR with the MK view, of course.
Well, we live in the boonies but any time I go to town
or anywhere else for that matter, I wear a rainbow
just to let others know we're here...you know the sayin'.
So at WDW I wore the rainbow and my gosh,
my bro hauled in the freebies and he's straight!!
Course, it was family remarkin' that we had to
take care of each other. You know, now that I
think about it, I didn't get a dang thing 'cept
the pleasure of seein' family take good care of
my brother. I did get an invite to the ESPN Bar
from a bartender Dave, but I had used all my
energy on the parks and knew not to go. ;)
We had a great time and I owe alot of it to
Family.

I'd like to add thanks to whichever cm helped make our meeting so memorable VIKI ,with front row seating for illuminations. And I also second Orlando Mike although since I have only met him socially he'll have to make it up to me when he's in uniform! :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Last year my ex and I went to Disney with her kids. Our family is still very strong and I find it important that she is still one of my best friends. :thumbsup2 Anyways, we went to the MK and had reservations for Tony's on Main street. When we got there they first couldn't find us on the list and then this rude lady was just going to seat us way far in the corner inside. THEN a very nice gay CM (i believe a manager) came over and saw how disappointed we all were and seated us himself. He took us right outside where we had requested to be and we had a table on the railing. The kids were able to get autographs from the characters on the other side and we had a blast! Super VIP treatment! And a big thanks to this awesome man for saving us from disappointment :thumbsup2 I really wish I could remember his name :confused3

sooner or later, I'll get around to getting my trip report done but honestly it ain't gonna happen until after some of my house projects are done.

Anyway, I DID want to make mention of Ms. Hollywood -- my server at WL -- Whispering Canyon, the night before I left for home on my quickie solo trip in October. After two days of being on my own and having an absolutely GREAT time, I was starting to get a little homesick for my family. I did a walk-up at WC but oddly instead of the mood-lift I was expecting from all the rowdy happy kids running around, shouting about ketchup, and doing stick races; I actually became a little more reflective and slightly blue about being so far from my own family.

I really needed some comfort food! And for me -- that's mashed potatos. She sized me right up, and never batted an eye when I ordered roast beef (maybe it was pot roast -- I'm not sure) with mashed potatos but hold the roast beef. Anyway she brought me a nice big plate of mashed potatos and gravy and charged me less than half of the menu price for what I had ordered.

With a bellyful of taters and this young lady's kind understanding of my state of mind, I returned to FW to watch the fireworks from the beach and had a fabulous evening. What an GREAT CM she is!!!!!!
