Cast Member Steals Phone

So after a long hard days work, i was clearing the last of the tables in the MDR, when i tripped over something.

It was a little dark, and i had kicked it under a table and had to climb under and pull it out with my broom handle.

It was someones iphone! It was locked, and there was a password, so i couldnt tell who it belonged to.

I was wondering how i would get this very expensive device back to the person who owned it when i remembered that you can take pictures with it even when locked, and hopefully the owner would be able to access Icloud for the find my iphone feature, and see the pics.

I took pics of ME, and my girlfriend who also works on the ship, some of my friends in various stations while sharing the story. We even got a bunch of people together in a room who new, so that the person who lost their phone could recognise any of us and track it down!!!

Since i didn't know whether the owner would have any other camera with them, I also made sure to take some scenery shots, to add some pixie dust to their vacation. I really hope they appreciate it!

None of us know whether it was stolen, or lost, what the situation really was or anything.

The above narrative is just as plausible on a Disney Cruise Ship as people stealing a phone.

You all already have this person convicted, deported and sentenced to death.
Compassion folks.

I recall that old saying "believe none of what you hear and half of what you see". I think without substantiated facts, this is all speculation. Even the author/owner of the Iphone - after all how do we know her story to be truth as well? Anyone can write anything on the internet. And, I found it interesting she was calling for "free Disneyland tickets" already. I would assume DCL would investigate before acting on anything of this nature, too.

So, until there is an official police/authorities, or DCL statement I will reserve judgement. Innocent until proven guilty....for everyone!

That is ridiculous. What you do, CM or guest, is turn it in to GS. If it was lost and someone picked it up and kept it that is the same as stealing. This guy could have bought it from the person who did steal it.
In which case it is receiving stolen property. If someone sells you a phone you know if it is stolen or not. I just lost my phone and we looking online to get a new one. I could tell by what people wrote if it was legit or not. If someone is selling a smartphone but tells you it cant be registered then it is stolen.

I find this all quite funny :) but the best part was getting to see the inside of the crew mess. Total geek I know :cool2:

If the phone was lost in April, suddenly all the pics show up at the end of May-is it not possible that the owner of the phone lost it, someone did turn it in to lost and found/guest services. After 30 days when nobody claimed it, it's free game for the staff or something like that? I work at a big hotel on the Las Vegas strip for the biggest corporation in town, and it works that way here. I agree with the other poster who said this guy has perhaps already been wrongly crucified without anyone knowing the full details.

More likely is that it was never turned into GS. Someone took pictures with it for a month and when the person finally got leave to go into port and get on the wifi of a cafe or starbucks the phone finally synced with the photo stream and uploaded all the photos taken to the account.

There is an update from Disney here:

i think its funny that the focus is on 'nelson'. he is in several of the photos, granted, however why think he took the phone. i would just assume someone close to nelson has the phone. someone else who likes to take photos and does not show up in any of them. theres nothing there that says it was nelson or did i miss something.
i feel sorry for the guy if he didn't take it cause sure as the sun shines people are going to be picking him out and avoiding him on the ship. way to ruin his reputation.

Ok then Sassy..........I stand corrected!

AKK

I really hope you are confused and think my username is sassy and you weren't calling me sassy. There was nothing wrong with my very straightforward response and the name is Sissy. With an "I".

I can't decide which is funnier...the captions by the girl whose phone was stolen or the Disers who are adament that the guy is innocent b/c he is a Disney CM. I have read on here before the blind bias toward Disney by some people, but this is my first time seeing it for myself.
Ya, he MAY have a good reason why he had the phone. But c'mon, if this happened on Carnival you KNOW these same people would be calling for capital punishment!
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE DCL! But I also LOVE my kids, yet if they had been taking pictures with a stolen Iphone, I wouldn't give them a free pass b/c I think they're cute!

Do you know what that is a picture of? Could it be the officer's dining area?

Just some restaurant he went to?
The Officers Mess isn't that big, and the ceiling is way to high unless they have demo'd the deck 2 Staterooms! lol!

Ex Techie :)
