My wife and I are moving to Orlando this summer. While I can still keep my job I have always had a desire to work for Disney. I am in the Distribution/Logistics business and their model is one that is admired in the industry. After trying to break the "employment code of silence" that surrounds Disney, I think I found the best way to get my name in is to go through the Presidents/General Managers of the individual parks. I do have a list of those individuals but I do not know what their Distribution reporting structure is.

I know all this is probably not very interesting to you but I am amased how tough it is to get to the hiring level at Disney w/o going through the lower level of employment contacts. My goal is to work at an executive level for a while and then be promoted to a bus driver. I would be great at it - what a blast!!!!

I will stop rambling - any info on becoming a "cast member" would be a big help. My wife is a Clinical Dietitian and would love to work there or Celebration Hospital. Thanks in advance for any help

Due to the heightened terrorist levels and other uncertainty, all of Orlando has seen a significant drop in attendance in the last few weeks. Because of that, Disney has instituted a hiring freeze, tentatively scheduled to be in place for 6 months or more. There really isn't much chance of getting hired exept in critical, "hard to fill" entry level roles like third shift custodial and Security.

This "significant drop in attendance" interests me. How much of a drop are we talking about, does anyone know?

I don't know from experience, but I have spoken to others with degrees in varying fields and lots of experience. When they interviewed with WDW personnel, they were offered jobs at entry levels in stores or food carts at just over $6 an hour.
From what LITTLE I have heard, you really have to know someone higher up who already works there.
On the other hand, my SIL knows someone who use to be a zoo keeper in her west coast area (not CA). WDW approached her friend and offered him a zookeeper job at DAK. (And he jumped at it.)
So I guess it depends on what position needs to be filled.
