Just gonna ring in with my two cents since I'm feeling a bit saucy at the moment
I understand completely why CM discounts cannot and should not be discussed specifically on boards such as these. I would never ask for details such as percentages, dates, etc.
But more than once, I've wondered if taking a part-time job at TDS would be worth it to get the discount. I worked at a Hallmark store years ago and several of the women I worked with made no secret of the fact that they worked a couple of shifts a week just to get the discount. However, talking about it once you get the job and talking about it before you even interview are two different things. I sure wouldn't go into a store and ask "What are your discounts for employees and how long do I have to be here before I can take advantage of them?" While many people might think it, they wouldn't say it for fear of not even getting a shot at getting the job.
So, who do you ask these questions of? My questions would be:
1 - are part-time employees eligible for park/cruise discounts?
2 - are seasonal employess eligible for park/cruise discounts?
3 - If yes to the above, how long must one be employeed as a CM and stay employeed as a CM to enjoy the benfits?
But like I said... I'd never dream of phoning up the manager of the local
Disney Store and asking. Which is shame, cause I'm sure the benefits would be enough to lure in people in a time when finding people willing to work retail is sometimes hard.
