For the past several months I have been enjoying all of you DIS veterans' great tips, stories and, yes, even your gripes. :listen: It has been so helpful in planning our first trip to WDW. :thumbsup2

One thing that has me curious is the availability of CM's in the parks. Are they everywhere or is it a case of when you don't need one you are practically tripping over them and when you really need one they are scarce? Other than the CM's that are "tied" to their stations (store clerks, ride operators, restaurant employees, etc.) are there CM's who just roam the parks waiting for guests in distress and coming to their aids? :wizard:

Most CMs have an appointed area or route, so chances are very good that at any point in time, if you look around, you are going to see a CM SOMEWHERE, emptying trash, at a cart or store, in character, or just patroling. even areas that you would think they never ever go to, are visited very often on someone's route. Though for the most part they are very friendly (I'm sure you've seen some of the eye-roller stories, but as much as we whine they really are very few and far between) but do not hound you saying hello, asking about your home, or seeing if you need anything unless you look lost or like you need help.

Super Greeter, Future World East, at your service at Epcot on Sat. and Sun. :thumbsup2

My job is to walk around the Eastside talking with guests about their visit to WDW, listening to complaints if they have any, answering their questions and offering whatever assistance I can when they ask me for help.

Have never had the impression that when I walk up to guests and ask about their day that I was hounding them. Indeed, I can honestly say every guest I've come across (I've been doing this for over a year now) seems genuinely appreciative someone is out there concerned about their having a wonderful day.

Have a safe journey to Orlando.

I sure wouldn't feel I was being hounded! I think most people like being greeted.

There are Cast Members all over. For example, at World Showcase (our favorite place), every kiosk is staffed with at least one Cast Member. No matter what your problem, they will go out of their way to help you out. Or radio in for someone to help you. Lost child, heat stroke, whatever. We had one Cast Member back at the hat place across from Flights of Wonder at Animal Kingdom that saw my husband limping around. She volunteered to go and get a wheelchair for him.
