Day 4, Part 1
October 18th - Animal Kingdom and Downtown Disney
I had planned quite a bit of AK time in order for Kira to play at the Boneyard but turns out we didn't need as much AK time as I thought
We were going to try to meet up with Sean, Bernie and Bailey though so we went back to AK this morning.
Before we even entered the park we found Rafiki!
This was the day that Kira started to act up a little more. Nothing major but she really started to get bold and temperamental. She talked back to us 1000X more than she does at home and she really didn't listen to us at all. Just simple little things like not getting in the stroller or not holding hands, yelling for no reason, etc.
She kept pushing her boundaries and blowing us raspberries every time we asked her to do something that she didn't like. She flipped out almost every time we changed her diaper and this went on for the rest of the vacation until we got back home.
I have to admit that Rob and I were getting pretty stressed. Although we still had fun and she had a lot of really special moments, it was really hard on us.
I knew that she would have the meltdowns and some back talk, I mean she's 2...it's to be expected but we really weren't prepared for how impossible she was to handle at times.
She was really difficult this day and so we decided to do the few things we missed the other day and then get out of the park.
Festival of the Lion King was our first stop and we ran into these bunnies just before the show.
I still say it doesn't look like Thumper
Kira was acting up during the show and made it slightly unpleasant for the family behind her to watch the show. She kept moving around and blocking the boys' view of the show. She had a few big meltdowns but she did enjoy most of the show.
Glad to be out of that theatre though! The other big thing we wanted to do was the Safari for Kira because of all the animals.
On the way, we took a break and ate the fruit that I packed. This was one of my best ideas I had the whole week...I would cut up some fruit every morning and put it in a container and freeze it for 45 mins, then I put it in a little cooler lunch bag and into our backpack.
By around 11:30 when Rob and Kira started to get hungry, I would break out the fruit and it was a nice quick (much cheaper) snack for them. It was still nice and cold, which is how we like our fruit so it made for a very refreshing snack
We got a LOT of jealous looks and a few comments from other people. That morning a man stopped us and said "Oooooh blackberries!!! We LOVE blackberries! Can you PLEASE tell us where you got your fruit!"
Publix
Kira always stole the strawberries first...that's my girl
So, I had been texting S & B all morning to see how they were doing and if our schedules were similar so that we could meet up.
Well, as we were in line for the Safari, I got a text from them saying that they were in line for the safari! So I looked around and saw them at the front, about to board their truck. We ended up being 2 trucks behind them.
I really thought Kira would love this ride. She loves animals! Well, I was right about part of it...she enjoyed the ride alright. But she wanted nothing to do with the animals. I mean NOTHING!!
At first it was rather frustrating, we'd spot an animal and try to show her where it was and she just didn't want to look. In fact, the only animals she would look at were the ones at the top of each row in the spotting guide
After while she just made me laugh. Rob was still a little frustrated but I was just laughing my butt off at my girl!
She was doing everything BUT looking at the animals. She was talking to the people behind us, playing peek-a-boo with them, she was trying to lay down on the seat, she was trying to stand up. For those of you who have done the Safari, you know just how bumpy and rough that ride can get!
Then she did something that made me laugh my butt off! The driver stopped so that we could spot some animals in the trees and she stood up right behind him and yelled at the top of her lungs at him
"GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!"

I was laughing so hard by now I was snorting!
I think Rob was still a little perturbed but I was having FUN!!!
When we got off the Safari, Sean, Bernie and Bailey were waiting for us. We got to give them all hugs and find out about their trip down.
We had lunch with them at Restaurantosaurus where they had their first taste of Disney chicken strips
They were going to do more rides so we went our separate ways and took Kira on Triceratops Spin before we decided to end our time at AK.
On the way out Rob decided that he wanted another ice cream sandwich so Kira and I waited on the bridge near the Oasis for him.
We waited and waited and waited and waited some more.
Kira was really acting up and being all crazy!
We waited at least 25 minutes for that stinking sandwich!
I was so mad and aggravated by the time he got back that I didn't even want any
I was getting a little crabby now myself and just wanted to get out of that park!
To be continued.....
