Hi, I am new to the board, and wanted to know if anyone had the scoop on the Castle Inn and Suites. We will be at DL form Oct 25-29th. My DH is in the Air Force and we have vouchers from our base for the Castle Inn. Any information to better prepare me for the trip would be great :wizard:

I haven't actually been there but have driven by. It doesn't look bad. It's a motel with outdoor corridors. You might check out review for it.;)

We've stayed there twice and had no problems. There's no free breakfast or anything like that but you can't beat the price and its a short walk to the parks! My DH is Air Force too and we get our vouchers on base! :)

We stayed there in 2005, we didn't find our room or carpet to be the cleanest. We also had no TV for the 4 out of the 5 days we stayed there, which was a big issue for us (we like to watch TV on breaks and at night before bed). The workers there weren't very nice, and we were never able to speak to a manager (she was never available and promises of her contacting us never happened). We saw others in the lobby with the same problems complaining. We would never stay there again, just our experience though.

We prefer the Tropicana when staying offsite. Clean nice rooms, free breakfast, good size pool and great big hot tub. Not to mention much closer to the parks!

We stayed there in May of 2005. It wasn't horrible (we've stayed at horrible and this was definitely NOT even close to THAT, LOL) but I agree w/the overall cleanliness & especially the carpets. I never wanted to walk w/out any shoes or socks on and I go barefoot all the time.

Overall it was fine...no major problems. We had the two bedroom suite which was plenty big enough for us.

If you're just looking for a pretty close place at a good price then you'll be fine! Like I said it's not horrible and I would stay there again if the price was right and we wouldn't be spending a lot of time in the room.

We had the exact same experience with the Castle Inn in 2006. They gave us a smoking room when we requested a non-smoking one. The carpet was GROSS!! Thank God I carry a can of Lysol whereever I travel. I sprayed the carpet down twice. The staff was rude and we will never stay there again.

We also prefer Tropicana. Aways a wonderful experience!

We stayed there last Veteran's day and this place is def very old and used and abused. It is cheap and close and that is about it. They upgraded us to a "suite" which meant a bigger room. The floor outside our room was chipping up but it was ok for the price I guess. Nothing fancy but ok for the price. Not terrible just decent cheap accomodations. If you want closer though I would pick one of the ones right across the street because it was still a bit of a walk for my 6 and 7 year old!

We've stayed there and personally I would stay at one of the places right across the street instead. It doesn't really seem like it would be a long walk but it is, we did it many many times. Not very clean. Nothing special or memorable about the place. A lot of the others right across the street have a cont. breakfast too.

We'll be there in about 19 days and will report back what it is like.

I asked about the quality when we booked it and the gal at the travel agency said that over a year ago she wouldn't have recommended it. But that it had been refurbished and she could recommend it now.

I'll let you know.

Just say NO! We stayed there in December 2005 and it was horrible. The carpets were sticky. yes sticky. The walls are paper thin, the bathrooms were not cleaned, and we asked for more pillows and towels twice and never got them. The towels were like cardboard. Thank God I did not have kids then because we would have stayed somewhere else! We requested a room with a "spa" in it. It was a heart-shaped above-ground bathtub in the corner of the room. None of the jets worked and it looked straight out of Starsky and Hutch.

This is my husband and cousin's husband acting stupid because the "spa" was so ridiculous.

It was so cheap, and very short walk to DL, but not worth it IMO. The pool and spa were dirty and the lounge chairs were broken and dirty.

Please go somewhere else....anywhere else!

It's OK. Try and avoid the front of the Inn,(road noise).Beats sleeping in your car.:lmao:
