cashing check at WDW resort

DH paycheck will be direct deposited while we are at the WL. Will I be able to cash a check at the front desk-extra spending $$? I don't want to use an ATM-they charge you a fortune.

I just found it easier to use the ATM. $1.50 or $2.00 didn't seem like a lot to me for the convenience.

Guest Services at the resorts will cash a check for you (or at least they used to!) I do believe they have a daily limit on the amount though. Sorry I can't remember what it was!

Actually I went through this not so long ago when my ATM card was "compromised" two days before we left.

No, they will NOT allow you to cash a check. You may write a check to pay your bill, but they will not give you cash back.

You *might* beable to cash a check at guest services at teh parks, but I got very mixed answers on this, so I wouldn't count on it.

you can cash a personal check at the Front Desk - I've done this more than once and the last time was in Oct '02 at the GF - the limit is $50.00 per day - they say it's supposed to be per room per day but my husband and I cashed a check each (believe it or not we have different checking accounts - long story!!) and the CM at the front desk did say that he's only supposed to do $50.00 per room per day but he would allow it this one time - I had the same problem - both of our direct deposits into both of our checking accounts came through while in the World and we just wanted some extra cash - about $100.00 each - and we cashed 2 checks each for $50.00 each. You can call the resort and double check because the first time I cashed a personal check it was at the CSR in June '97 for only $25.00 and wasn't sure if they still did it and called GF and asked before we left and they said "Sure" and it was correct!!
