Hi all

Just trying to work out how much travel money we will need for this trip.

I believe CRT requires upfront card payment?
When you make other reservations, do you have to pay by card on the day?
Does mobile ordering require card payment?
Is anywhere else card only (BBB eg)?

Just hoping to use cash to avoid all the foreign transaction fees!

Thank you!

Not sure what reservations require payment when the reservation is made.

Most ADRs require a credit card only as a guarantee. They will only change that card if you are a no show.

You have to pay for mobile food orders in the app when you place the order. Payment can either be a Credit/Debit Card or Disney Gift Card. To pay with cash, you would need to order in person at the restaurant.

Disney has lots of ATM's that are very convenient to use. Even if using credit cards for other charges, there is no reason to bring large amounts of cash with you. Get it when you need it from an ATM and then you don't have to worry about it getting stolen while you are there. I can't speak to the ATM exchange rates if you are traveling from another country, but still think that is a safer way to handle cash when on vacation.

I don’t know if you are able to do this but we always buy a bunch of Disney gift cards from the Shop Disney website to total the amount we estimate how much we think we will pay for food we do a lot of TS due to food allergies.

the only restaurant that requires upfront payment is CRT.

use disney gift cards to avoid foreing fees on CC

Depending where/how you purchase your Disney gift card, your credit card company may still charge an exchage rate fee.

In Canada at least, you can buy a Disney gift card denominated in CAD, and then the actual USD transactions when using it at WDW are converted at the real exchange rate without a FTF. I get 4% cash back on grocery transactions, so if I buy these cards at a grocery store before I go I'm actually saving money over converting & bringing cash.

There's also the option if you do bring cash of buying a Disney gift card with cash once you're in Florida, and using that for your mobile orders or meals.

Do you travel internationally often? If you do it might be worth looking into getting a credit card that doesn't charge foreign transaction fees if they're available where you are. It's been such a money saver for me traveling from the US (my bank charges a fee when I use foreign ATMs and doesn't do currency exchange, so I hate having to get cash).

Thanks all, unfortunately the fees for using a foreign ATM are even worse!

Does anyone know if a UK disney gift card would be accepted in the parks / mobile orders?
