Hello

We booked OKW at the cash rate for 3 nights in March and received the members discount.

Does anyone know if this is the very best rate we will find or should I shop around??

If I need to shop around, any ideas where???

Thanks so much

The DVC Member discount has no guarantee that it will be the best rate available - but it will be linked to a point reservation - something that can't be guaranteed of you reserve by some other means and meaning it's possible you might need to move.

In the past there have been times when better rates could be found for AP holders, but even those have been reduced over time.

While it's worth looking into, be sure to do a direct comparison of the actual rates each way and include the possibility that a move might be necessary.

Maybe..maybe not..depending upon other discounts you may eligible to receive. DVCers receive a 25% discount, if available, at DVC resorts. If AP or PIN discounts are available through CRO, they are sometimes greater than the 25% we get through DVC.

It never hurts to shop around. Remember, though, that rooms booked through sorces other than DVC Member Services often can not be linked to that ressie, so you may have to change rooms. And the DDP is not available on rooms not booked through DVC, unless you meet the regular Disney Travel criteria and purchase a package.

I booked a studio for the night of 4/13 for cash at SSR with member discount. I called CRO but can't even come close to that price with a AAA discount -- no other discounts apply because its Easter week.

IMO, being able to link the ressies by using the member discount trumps whatever difference there might be between that & an AP rate.

If I had to choose between price & convenience, given that the price differences are rarely substantial, convenience wins every time!

I did the same for 4/14...no other options even came close to that price.

ITA. Last month the difference between the AP rate and the member discount price for Friday and Saturday studio at OKW was just $20 plus tax - total. I also decided that the ability to link the ressies was worth far more to me than that! Also, I didn't want housekeeping turning up the clean the rooms on those 2 days ;)
