I have seen lots of threads talking about paying for friday & saturday night rooms. we are going in august and now need to add fri & sat night. we currently have BCV booked and I would love to stay there. does dis offer reduced rates at the budget hotels? are there any rooms at the budget resorts that are made for 6 people? thanks

DVC does not offer discounts at non-DVC resorts. You can see the codes & rates board to see when AP or code discounts become available (right now AP through 7/4/05).

DVC members can get a 25% discount off rack rate at the DVC resorts only, if there is availability. Since the rooms for this come out of the points inventory, rooms for the member discount are only available if DVC determines that not all the rooms will be booked for points. Availability is not announced - you just have to call MS and see if the dates you want are available for the cash discount.

DVC does not make any cash reservations for the non-DVC WDW resorts. So you can't call them for a reservation at one of the Value resorts.

The maximum occupancy for a value resort is 4 per room plus an infant. With 6, you'd need two rooms. You can request that the rooms be connecting.

Best wishes -

can you provide the link to the code boards please? thanks

Just to add a little more here....sometimes CRO will have rooms available with a discount code for the DVC resorts too (they have a separate inventory of rooms than booking through Member services with DVC). So if MS doesn't have it available you can also check with them...depending on time of year one or the other may be the better deal if both have it available but....keep in mind that MS can link your cash nights to your points stay making it like one long ressie so that you don't need to check out and back in again or have to move. If you book via CRO in addition to a points stay through DVC the possibility exists that you may have to move although they'll try to keep you from having to ~ and you'll almost definetly still have to get new room keys even if you don't have to move as the computer will check you out of the room on DVC's system and back into the room on CRO's (and of course you may have to physically check out and move if they cannot keep you in the same room).

:teacher: Of course, for BCV in August, the points cost for those weekend nights is 75 points a night. Rack rate for that time is $865, plus tax comes to $964, so not as good a deal as using points. Now, if you are lucky enough to score a DVC discounted room over the weekend, the cost comes down to $649 a night, or about $723 after tax.

So perhaps renting points for those nights is not a bad deal, especially since any old points will do at this point (within 7 month window). The again, the 25% DVC discount comes out cheaper than points at $10 a point. And maybe if you don't mind moving, it might be fun to try another Disney hotel, if you can get a good rate. I don't imagine it'll be that hard to beat $649 a night even for two rooms, since you are 6 ppl.
