Cash Night DVC discount

Is there still such a thing as a DVC discount on cash nights? If so, do you contact Member Services to see if one is available or do you check with the central reservations?

When available, the member cash discount is 25% off rack rates and only for DVC Resorts. You need to call MS to book.

And surprisingly, the "Members' Cash" may be available, even if the room is not available on points. That's what happened to us. We waitlisted for a few months for a villa on points. One day I called MS in desperation, verified that it was still not available on points, asked about MC, and was told "Oh yes, we have it on MC" like they'd had it all along. For another trip I just told the CM that I'd take the room on either points or MC (weekend, extra points). When it wasn't available on points this CM told me she was pretty sure it wouldn't be on Members' Cash either, but it was. Be sure the CM checks!
