Very saddened this week. Stopped at Casey's for a dog and fries. Sat down, opened my package, and saw a wheat bun. NO!! I wanted a soft, squishy, white bun with my hot dog.

I understand being healthy. But make it a CHOICE. Let me have my white bun if I want it. This is true for all counter service sandwiches.

I am sure some will disagree with me. But it is not Disney's or anyone else's place to tell ME what I have to eat.

are you sure this wasn't a mistake? I sure am hoping it was. I agree with you 100%, I don't like anyone forcing me to eat well. I'm not too happy with the kids choices, but now they're messing with my Casey's hot dog. This is where I draw the line.

No mistake. Got a hot dog at Studios. Same bun. Burger and chicken sandwich buns were the same.

What's next... tofu fries???

I would LOVE to see a choice in buns. Personally I prefer wheat and have been forced to eat white for all these years. However, my choice to eat what shouldn't force you to eat the same thing I am.

I am sure that they just stock one for their convenience, but a choice would be nice.

Ick, ick, ick! I'll choose wheat every time for bread, but I cannot stand wheat buns for some reason. Just too used to white, I suppose. I certainly hope this isn't the case everywhere, and I really feel bad for those with pickier children because I know *many* kids who won't eat wheat bread/buns at all.

You shouldn't be forced to have a healthy wheat bun with a HOT DOG for petes sake. If you wanted to eat healthy you wouldn't be getting a hot dog, LOL

lol hobogary. I agree! It's like drinking diet coke with your pepperoni pizza :rotfl:

Right-O!;)

Wait, I thought that made me a better dieter!:lmao:BTW I am tired of having what I don't want forced at me. Personally I prefer the wheat, but would never exlpect everyone to wnat that and most especially children. This forcing healthy stuff in bizarre places (hotdog buns when as others pointed out if I wanted healthy I'd be opting away from a hotdog) is a little insane. Kind of like the stuff at school lunches--no more french fries--even baked, but sure you can have tha soft pretzel drenched in hydrogenated nacho cheese sauce--eww!

Enough is enough already! This is really getting ridiculous! I am all for healthy food, but I am also for the good stuff as well! People should be able to have a choice, not just one or the other. It is great Disney is health concious, but they really need to offer choices, so people could decide for themselves what they want!

What's next?

Sneaking sugar-fee, fat-free yogurt into my Mickey bar?

Heads will roll, baby . . . heads will roll!

I am actually a fan of wheat buns/rolls for hot dogs, hamburgers and sandwiches. It is not for health reasons, since if I was looking for healthy a Casey's dog would not fit into that frame, it is because I really like the flavor of wheat bread products........now if they had a good sourdough bun/roll that would be awesome. I do think it should be a choice though.

:thumbsup2

I totally agree! I hate eating white bread - and hate to see my kids eat it!! :scared1: So I'm thrilled to hear that they have wheat buns, but I would much prefer to see the choice between wheat and white...

How does this happen? Hmmm, didn't somebody sue fast food (Maybe McD's? which DH calls Merchants of Death) for the unhealthy food they serve -- Did they win? If so, I can understand why Disney wouldn't want to offer a choice...

Everyone can say they deserve a choice, but there are too many individuals don't take responsibility for their own choices (Who forced the guy who sued Mc Donald's to eat there? Wasn't that his 'choice'?) :confused3

It seems such a 'petty' thing to complain about. But I may email Disney. After all, it took all those 'healthy people' to complain for the change. I don't mind a choice. I like the wheat bun on the burger. I love all the options they have now, it is nice to be able to get fruit. Again, choice is the word.

Count me in as another who HATES white bread / buns. Yet I HATE buns that fall apart both of mine did last week when I ate at Caseys. The new hot dogs Caseys is serving is very nasty I couldn't finish my hot dog either time. Thought 1st bad hot dog was a fluke no they are NASTY! And to top it all off the hot dog is now much smaller than the bun!

Thanks for the heads up on the hot dog buns........DH and I prefer the white mushy buns for our dogs too. I guess this is yet another item we'll be crossing off our list for fast food choices at WDW.

Why are they doing this? A traditional hot dog bun is always white, not wheat. This is just stupid and I agree, if I were going the healthy route I wouldn't be HAVING the hot dog in the first place. Gimme back my white bun please.

If you ever get to Disneyland Paris, they stuff your hot dog into a baguette. Sorta like sourdough and really GOOD! Too bad we can't get hot dogs like that here too. :thumbsup2

As for wheat buns, if they ever discover how to make one that doesn't fall apart, I'd be more forgiving. As it stands though, every wheat bun I've ever eaten has broken in half and sort of crumbled away...:sad2:

I noticed the wheat buns this past visit and thought what is going on here.. Of course, it split immediately and all my relish and mustard ended up everywhere but in my mouth along with the slippery dog..

Oh well, I do not care wheat or white, but can it just stay together so I can enjoy my hot dog... is that asking too much?? ;)

 My sister and I were just talking last night about how we can't wait to get to Casey's for a dog with the works.
My mind didn't picture a wheat bun! Wheat bread is a staple at my house but not on a hot dog. A choice would be nice!

I noticed this in December at Cosmic Rays. This is a weird statement, but the fast food at Disney has really gone downhill recently. I used to love their burgers and fries. Now, they're just nasty.
