Casey Anthony TRIAL thread #2

So is the State going to get a chance to stand up with their own case files and say why this should go on??? Someone please say yes.

Judge Perry stated this morning that the State gave him some files on Monday and that he had looked over them already. I wonder if these are their own case files that you were asking about?

I don't think this is going to result in acquittal!

Can they not admit evidence before KC was mirandized? I have made statements to law enforcement. They were written down. I was not a suspect, but a witness. KC was providing info in this manner when they took the trip to Universal.

He does sound like FogHornLegHorn!

CM does not really think this is going to work, does he? No evidence submitted that indicates guilt? really?

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I'm not sure which of Casey's lawyers I despise more, Cheney or Baez

I hate that the defense (Mason this morning) always said "the child" and he uses such a condescending tone as if everybody else is stupid. I dislike him as much as I dislike Baez if not a little more.

Me too.
Wonder how he talked Baez into letting HIM talk this am?

I have a technical question regarding jury and deliberations:

Are they properly informed of what is and especially what is NOT required to issue a guilty verdict?

I am asking as I have seen some opinions that say the State hasn't proven anything. It seems those opinions hang on the absence of a COD and that the evidence is only circumstantial as well as lack if motive. My understanding of law is that the Supreme Court has upheld that circumstantial evidence is permitted and that law does not require motive or COD for a murder 1 conviction.

Is the jury informed of all of that? I would think so (or else how would Scott Peterson have been convicted?).

While WE are entitled to various opinions that may or may not have basis in law---the jury would have to follow law. So for example, they couldn't insist on premeditation, right? (not sure if it is that simple).

I can only speak for the trial that I sat on. The jury selection for my trial took about a week. Then there were some jurors who were excused for whatever reasons and they had to select new people. The day before the trial began, we (the jury) had to report to the courtroom. The lawyers and judge were there, along with court support (stenographer, etc.) and we were told then what was required to find a guilty verdict. Reasonable doubt was explained as well as other information pertinent to forming our verdict.

We were also reminded before we went into deliberation.

I don't know about this trial ...

Thank God he is done.
Aaaannnnddddd...he's back!

They are THE most unlikable duo I could imagine. Add in Simms and her petting Casey, and it's been one big gag fest.

He is one condescending SOB.

I didn't really understand the shirt but I think where the prosecution was going was that if Cindy did most of the Caylee care, and did the laundry; had never seen that shirt, then how could George have had access to it when Caylee 'drowned'? The shirt was solely in Casey's possession and was never at the
Anthony house, therefore Caylee did not die there.

Interesting ....

Does it seem like Judge Perry is trying really hard not to laugh? Maybe it is just me?

OK very interesting. Defense wants us to assume there was accident, as in accident equals innocence. Judge Perry seems to think that accident does not equal innocents and we do not have to presume there was an accident. He asked what evidence they have of an accident and Mason said none.

Had to get off for a minute. Pesky work again. Are they in recess or something? I left when the state was rebutting Chaney. What happened?
