Interesting day of witnesses. Does anyone know the reason Mr. George called them the way he did? All the roomies except AL. Then the gf of one of the roomies, neighbor that lent CA the shovel, then the shot girls, and THEN AL???

Thx.

Oh and ITA w/MaryAnn, Belle101, best line in the thread!!! :lmao:

Well I am sure the state has reasoning behind how they call people. Sometimes you need to start with things that will stick with jurors minds. And then they may have a loaded bombshell down the line. I say they are awesome and very professional. Unfortunatly Baez is not experienced in this area. I think someone said the state has about 500 witnesses. Tomorrow will be interesting.

Nice recapping today!

Sounds like the person Casey thought was her boyfriend didn't feel quite the same attachment to her.

Were her parents in court today? Imagine how it felt to be listening to some guy saying he didn't go to school cause he wanted to stay in bed all day with your daughter? ick.

I didn't see the most of the questioning today. I did see the video. Maybe you guys could see it better than I could. I could really not see their faces to gage any type of emotion. I know that Tony indicated that she seemed no different than normal that day.

Hmmm...that then leaves the question, where did her parents think Caylee was? I too live with my young daughter and my parents and if I was out galavanting with my friends my parents would want to know where my child was immediately.

No more icky than her saying that her father and brother molested her, drowned her daughter and hid the death :confused3

I think Casey was hoping the car would be stolen. Maybe she could pretend to her parents that the car had been taken with Caylee in it - wouldn't be the first to have tried that story! At the very least, if the car was stolen and found later smelling like a dead body, she could blame that on the car thief. Car was fine when she left it -the thief must have put a body in the trunk. Not Casey's fault.

Interesting!

Why was Baez throwing a fit when questioning Tony? What do you think he was going for?
Here are the videos of Jose Baez questioning Anthony Lozarro. Start the first video at about 19 minutes.

I hope your little one is ok.

That is when she stayed with him on a regular basis. He might think twice about who and where he gets dates from. I hope they show a replay on Baez interviewing tony. They usually post on the wftv.com page so you can watch. It was so bizzare with Baez's behaviour today.

Thanks--she isn't so little anymore. This happened several years ago. Physicians practically promised that there would be no permanent scarring or damage since she was so young and how her burns were treated. Sure enough--it is extremely difficult to see where the burns are. She has no memory of it at all.

BTW, eyes for lies has her analysis up of George's testimony. She believes him (regarding Jose's claim of what happened to Caylee, 100%). She is reserving on the other claims as she really needs to see more footage. Also, she will not do an analysis of Baez at anytime saying that the job is hard enough as it is.

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't been on the thread commenting, but I've been sick with a migraine since yesterday and sleeping it off. I was pretty mad I didn't see the opening statements when they happened- but thank goodness for the DVR!

I couldn't believe the defense's arguments. Just unbelieveable...I just have one question: I know that Casey now says that Caylee died in an accident in the pool. But why the duct tape? The prosecution says the duct tape was placed there before Caylee was killed (judging by the position of Caylee's jaw bone).:confused3

P.S. Happy Birthday Mare!

Interesting reading, and I agree. I don't think George had anything to do with any of this. The jailhouse letters said that CA had sex with Lee until she was 15, I believe and that she thinks her dad "might have" molested her. Now, she says Lee tried to molest her but that her dad actually did. I don't believe her.

As a victim of abuse, I am well aware how common it actually is, but I don't believe this accusation. I know someone similar to her, and they are a pathological liar. A psychologist once said the individual thought the rules only applied to other people - not to them. I do think that this individual was able to convince themselves of their own lies (which I can't understand personally, but I saw it happen repeatedly when they knew the person they were talking to knew the truth but would still become angry and indignant when confronted with the truth). I think this is CA.

I agree that it's unbelievable. I suspect that CA had been using chloroform on her daughter so she could party and decided to get rid of her once and for all. She probably got her to sleep with the chloroform and then smothered her with the duct tape. Sickening to imagine...

I would guess that is the reason for throwing Kronk under the bus.:confused3

I didn't get that prosecution was inferring it was before death--just that without knowing how Caylee died, we do know that once you place duct tape over someone's nose and mouth, they will not be able to breath. But I don't recall their exact statement in opening. We'll know more when they get to the part where they discuss the forensics of finding Caylee and her condition when found.

Baez with all the questions about guns......the child was not killed by gunshot.

I didn't get that either.:confused3

TODAY's LESSON: Don't friend request random people on Facebook. You could end up a witness in a murder trial. ;)
So true!:lmao:

Baez just asked Tony Lazarro if Casey mentioned being abused by her father (apparently he had), but the state objected. Sustained.

That surprised me. I haven't read anything about that in discovery. I DO remember Tony saying that Casey was having nightmares and would wake up sweating the nights she stayed over but they didn't mention that today.

Interesting.

I wonder if they didn't mention it so that Baez could not cross examine it.

George said he was in the delivery room and saw Caylee being born. I wonder, if Casey was really molested by George, would it be odd that she'd have him there seeing her private parts? I would think Casey wouldn't want George anywhere near her private body at a time like that. I do admit, though, that I have no experience with being sexually molested, so I'm just guessing. Thoughts?

Also, does anyone know if Cindy is on the witness list?

Wondering where you were! Sounds like an awful migraine. What did we do before DVRs?

And thanks! Got some nice gifts and had a lovely visit with the kids. :) (No spiffy new phone tho! ?? I think DH thinks since my phone works fine, I don't need a new one that does tricks. What kind of reasoning is that? Sheesh.)

Back to the case...
The friends of Casey who testified said that Casey's car didn't smell...not sure of the timeframe, but it was after June 16, and I think it was in the few days after. If Casey asked for a shovel from the neighbor on the 18th, for an hour, was Caylee in the play house in the yard? Didn't search dogs hit on something there? So then she took the body on the 18th, and buried it nearby (since she only had the shovel for an hour)? Did having it in the car for that brief time leave that odor? Or did "decomposition" (esp if she had been inside that play house, in steamy 80+ degree weather) leave "something" behind? Or did she remove the body from where it had been buried, and then during that trip closer to July 17th, the odor developed? Because it seems that there WAS on odor July 17. Or was there? :confused3

OK...I got distracted. I know I had other thoughts going through my head...where'd they go? LOL I think I need a break.

Where is everyone watching the trial on TV? What channel is carrying it? Thanks
See the first post in this thread. There are many links to how to follow this case online and TV.

I think TRUTV is carrying it. It is on our local stations here. I've been watching it on WESH.

TRU tv coverage ends at 3 pm eastern time, and then I watch it on HLN (Head Line News) CNN. I also have it streaming without commercials from CNNs website.

Something jumped out at me during the state's opening argument and I see Dr Glass (body language expert) noticed it too ;)

You know how Casey nods her head NO every time the prosecution says something she doesn't like? Her head was a bobble head no-ing until one time she shook her head yes! Dr Glass says this on her blog:

DOES CASEY ADMIT GUILT BY NODDING HER HEAD YES?

The something major happened body language wise where Casey may appear to possibly be admitting guilt. It is around 17: 25 Linda Drane Burdick says There is no other reason to put multiple pieces of duct tape on a child’s face mouth and nose other than the other than the specific intent to end that child’s life. Casey nods YES twice as Linda says these words! To me that is a huge revelation body languaguage wise.

Hmmmm.....
