It is also a rare duct tape.

That is according to the state. They have yet to prove this. Remember, you can say anything during opening statements. They have to give proof of their statements by experts. The jury is not supposed to take anything on face value.

Based on analysis by several experts on the local news, the duct tape looks like any duct tape you can buy at a hardware store. If there is something special about it, the state needs to prove that.

You will find, throughout this trial, that I am a stickler for details and procedures. I take nothing at face value when it comes down to a person's life.

I can't believe that anyone hearing all the evidence at this point - circumstantital or not - could believe the murder was accidental. Its mind boggling, really.

Exactly! Especially since the internet searches are in for the prosecution, how can the defense explain searching neck-breaking etc.

So apparently, when they showed the last picture of Caylee alive, they showed it right next to the picture of the skull!

Do you know if there is a way to stream it over the internet without video? I can't do video at work, but I can do radio.

THANKS!

Ive always thought one of two things. There are reports that there was a HUGE fight between Casey and Cindy after Cindy learned that Casey had taken money from her grandfather. This happened around June 14. Reports were that it got so bad, that Cindy was basically choking Casey.

I think that Casey, was angry and might have taken it out on Caylee if Caylee got out of line for 1 minute during this time. She killed her accidentally and then hid the body. I believe the duct tape might have been used to seal her mouth because sadly, bodily fluids do come out.

The second is that she had been dosing Caylee for a while to make her sleep so she could party and this last time, it went to far and Caylee overdosed.

I don't think she planned this out or maybe its that as a mother, I can't fathom it and Im just naive. I also believe the cover up is exactly because she did it herself, solo.

I just can't wrap my head around why she thinks taking this to trial is a good idea for her? I can't imagine what can be said to even provide a little bit of a defense? There is just nothing or noone to substantiate any part of her story.

She should have some out and said it was an accident but her life has been so full of abuse and metal torture from her parents that she was terrified and petrified to tell them.. Her partying could have been defended with post traumatic stress or whatever other mental condition. I can't figure this defense out at all......

If that turns out to be the case, then she is not guilty of first degree murder. That would be a lesser charge.

To be fair, that is also my opinion. I believe it was an accidental death. Unfortunately, Casey's whole life is built around lies and denial. Why? We may never know exactly. It may be a defense mechanism she developed to deal with her parents. It may be a mental thing. Regardless, I think it was an accident and she was afraid to admit it to her parents. She made everything up to cover. Now, I think she is to the point that she believes the stories she has put together.

I cannot wait to hear the defense 'n thank you 'n everyone for postin' details here. I do have other things to do, but I am gonna be glued to the TV for the defense openin' statements.

HLN reported Jose's infamous statement that within the first 1 minute, we will all have an answer.

Can't wait. We have a well child appt at 2pm....I hope it is a New York Minute and not one of those country mile minutes.:lmao:

Neither can I. I hadn't paid much attention to all the news reports & hype leading up to the trial so I didn't know about all the evidence and the depth of the lies she told. Up until now I wanted to believe she was innocent or that it was some kind of accident, because the thought of a mother killing her daughter is just so awful. But after hearing all that, I believe she's guilty, that she's a master manipulator and a compulsive liar who killed her sweet little girl so she could "lead the good life".

Not necessarily--

If she used an illegal substance on her child, it is aggrivated child abuse and if death results, that can be murder. How easy it is to get that conviction, I have no idea. But I distinctly remember that being mentioned a while back.

An "accident" won't necessarily save her being convicted from murder. It would most definitely save her life.

I am re-watching it now... I recorded it since I wanted to be able to watch it during nap time. :) I listened a little earlier when the kids were out of the room. I don't want them hearing this AT ALL. So trying to catch up now. So sad.

I think because of the aggravated child abuse, etc, It is still first degree.

I'm not saying it wouldn't be murder...just not first degree murder.

Nice to see the ONE tissue Casey used. Of course, not for Caylee but for herself!

Something I just heard... that she left at 12:50 from the Anthony's home to go to work, with Caylee. But cell phone records show that she was still in the area of her parent's home until after 4pm. What was she doing then? Is that when she killed her, do you think?

Good Morning from SoCal … oh no 11 pages to read … I better get started!!! :surfweb:

The prosecution will be bringing out alot of things that people have not heard, along with alot of other evidence. The prosecution did make the statement to the judge last week there will be evidence that has not been brought in as ebvidence yet.

I'm not sure, but I don't believe so. There are many people who have been tried in recent years, in the state of Florida, and it hasn't gone down as first degree.

There was a case, not long ago, of a guy who beat his girl friend's child repeatedly. In the end, he killed the little boy. It was not tried as first degree and I believe he got something in the range of ten years.

Sadly, there are way to many case like the above here.

OK had to look it up:

From what I understand, in Florida, First Degree Murder is either 1) premeditated murder or 2) Felony Murder. Because it would have been committed while commiting aggravated child abuse, it would fall under first degree murder FELONY murder.

Hopefully there is a lawyer on here to correct me if needed.
