I had no idea George was still working when the baby went missing.
3pm-11pm hmmmmm

I believe the only way to spare Casey from the death penalty is to throw her parents under the bus. It is so sad. I believe those grandparents loved Caylee so much but they (mis)trusted their daughter a little too much. They tried to do the right thing.

She keeps shaking her head no to the jury, what that says everyone else is lying but her. Did they mention the hotel she was staying at?

I also feel bad for George and Cindy but I don't understand how they can support Casey when she is responible for killing Caylee, it baffles me. I wonder how much longer they will be supporting her when she will likely be throwing them under the bus with this case to save herself.

I'm sure they don't support Casey's behavior, but she is still their daughter and they still love her. I just can't even imagine what they are going through. And I agree, I don't think Casey would hesitate for an instant to throw them under the bus if she thinks it will save her rear.

For Casey, I would have expected a much more professional appearance during this phase. They couldn't get her a suit? She is dressed far too casual, IMHO.
I'm not surprised. I think they're putting her out there as a young girl. All those questions by the defense during jury selection about potential jurors being able to take into consideration age and maturity if it comes to the penalty phase, they definitely want to present her as a child herself, basically. IMHO.

I think she's a pathological liar and I'm pretty sure that hasn't changed and won't change in the future.

I'm sorry if this sounds inappropriate, but does anyone else wonder if Casey and the defense attorney Jose, is/was/ or was ever, having a personal relationship. Not just attorney/client relationship...more like a romantic relationship.

The reason I ask is because I saw a clip of them this morning on the Today Show, leaving the courhouse (not sure if it was current, or from some time ago) and they had their hands all over each other. I understand trying to protect your client, but this looked like more than that, IMO.

It is one thing to support her but they have actually argued on her behalf and changed their tune about several pieces of evidence. I can see being outwardly supportive while they are hoping to find Caylee alive but since she was found dead, I am shocked that they have continued to support their daughter since she is responsible for them losing their beloved grand-daughter.

Saw part of an interview with Tim Miller, founder of Equusearch, who, after some weird interactions with Casey, told Cindy something about making Casey tell her where Caylee is, because the sooner they find the body, the more evidence there will be. And that's when the relationship between Cindy/George and Equusearch went bad.

I think it's just an overwhelming complicated emotional rollercoaster for them. Their DAUGHTER is facing DEATH.

But with the prosecutor now talking about how many times George and Cindy asked about Caylee, and Cindy made a MySpace page "My Caylee" saying she was missing, and Lee started doing research...all this concern...why didn't they call the police sooner? Casey's stories were just ridiculous, and they DID doubt them.

I think it is a very smart and compelling opening statement on behalf of the prosecution to outline day by day the actions and words of Casey during the month that Caylee was "missing" or unaccounted for.

I agree. It's chilling to listen to it.

this has been a LONG time coming.
So many people have worked so hard on this, I'll be keeping up on Websleuths for the latest info, but checking in here every now and then.
Interesting that George and Cindy are on the prosecution side.

Caylee did nothing wrong, Casey did. I just can't wrap my mind around them being supportive of a daughter that is a MURDERER, regardless of whether or not Casey is now facing death, she deserves to be in the situation she is in.

Are George & Cindy going to be called as witnesses? I thought that witnesses couldn't be in the courtroom during the trial? How does that work?

Are they? Is that just chance?

Can't see Cindy's face behind those people, but it did look look like she had a pen, and she's looking down a lot. Is it really OK for a spectator/WITNESS to be taking notes?? (IF she is...not sure...just looks like it.)

not sure, but she is holding Caylee's bear and he has a bible.

someone mentioned something interesting, hoping these jurors are really listening....these opening statements are what we have known for three years and been able to mull, pick apart, research etc.....praying they get it right!
