Just wanted to say...I think the focus on Cindy and George and all they've done is partly due to what they expect the Defense is going to say. The prosecutor just mentioned how Caylee would do things with "JoJo" (George)...they had the camera on George...he looked pained. :(

Prosecutor said that Cindy took the last known photos of Caylee, and they showed Casey shaking her head. Did a lot of head shaking...not sure about what (trying to listen, watch, type!) but she's looking very upset on and off, and wiping away tears.

It is a death penalty case.

I think that Casey was advised to show objection to what the prosecution contains in their opening statement. Her reactions don't seem natural or fitting with the statements being made at the time that she is shaking her head etc, remember that she is directly across from the jury.

Prosecutor said that Casey was the last one to see her alive, and that the next photos taken of Caylee were in December, 2008. Casey sobbing.

You think she's riddled with guilt? I'm surprised by the tears.

I really do feel bad for Cindy and George. Dispite the fact that I think some of their behavior over the past three years has been inappropriate at times, to think that they've lost their beloved granddaughter, and they might lose their child, has to be the most horrible thing any parent or grandparent can face.

A question I have is: If the jury finds Casey guilty, does the jury decide if she gets the death penalty? Or does a judge decide that?

Good Morning Gang........so far I can just say "Holy Cow"

So glad Mary Ann is doing the step by step for our girls not home today......:thumbsup2

I just can't believe that CA is facing the jury........

Name of prosecutor...Linda Drane Burdick.

I wish InSession didn't have commercials! But I'm online too.

I think she realizes that she has no real defense for the actions on the days surrounding June 16, 2008. When presented back to back to back, along with the emotional impact of talking about how close Caylee was with George and Cindy etc, it is a very damning case. What could Jose Baez possibly say that could justify her actions during those days? She is a pathological liar and she knows she has a slim chance of getting off, that is what the tears are for, not for Caylee or guilt but for getting caught and being punished.

Jury makes a decision. Not sure if judge has the authority to ignore their suggestions, though.

I also feel bad for George and Cindy but I don't understand how they can support Casey when she is responible for killing Caylee, it baffles me. I wonder how much longer they will be supporting her when she will likely be throwing them under the bus with this case to save herself.

My local cable operator breaks in with a 5 minute local community show every half hour.

For Casey, I would have expected a much more professional appearance during this phase. They couldn't get her a suit? She is dressed far too casual, IMHO.

Eyes for Lies is a great blog. I do wonder what her "read" of Casey during these statements will be. She has a great track record (though she got the Balloon Boy Case wrong--she believed the parents.:confused3)

While I cannot comprehend it nor will EVER understand it, it is said that denial is a stage of grief and for them to lose their daughter along with their granddaughter is too much.

Also of note, they have been dealing with her lying all of her life that I think they just want this one to be true.

Earlier interviews of them indicate that they did suspect Casey to some degree. Not sure if anything will come of it.

Corrected my post to say that CASEY was the last one to see her alive, not Caylee.

I'm not surprised by her tears...I think having it all laid out like this, she's terrified. But I still think part of her thinks she can pull this BS off. I tell you...it's unnerving to me hearing it laid out chronologically like that.

The jury decides, but I THINK it's a "recommendation" that a judge rarely goes against.

Agreed.
