ORLANDO, Fla. -- As the days count down to Casey Anthony's release from the Orange County Jail, her jailhouse account balance keeps ticking up.
In the last week, Anthony's jail account balance has gone up more than $100 -- from $301 on July 7 to $470 on July 14.
Over the last few weeks, checks from people who are not believed to be associated with the case have continued to arrive at the jail from as far away as Canada.
The latest deposit was from Shady Dale, Ga. for $20.

Anthony is allowed to use the money for purchases from the jail's commissary. In the past, Anthony has purchased everything from beef sticks and cocoa to nacho dip and tortillas.
If inmates are released and their account still has money, they're given cash before they're released, jail officials said.

I haven't read all pages here, but did anyone see Joy Behar's interview last night with that woman who was one of Casey's attorneys? I can't remember her name, but she sat right next to Casey during the trial and it seemed like the two of them were always whispering about things, and she was always comforting Casey.

Joy asked her at the end of the interview if she would let Casey babsit for her kids. The woman hem-hawed around about it, said "well, my kids are grown". Joy said, "would you let her babysit your grandchildren?" The lady would never come right out and answer the question, but she sure danced all around it.

It was quite telling what her "true" feeling about Casey was.

I did not go back and read everything but really why couldn't she just be HONEST for once? Obviously she was at a loss for words and really it is not like that was an unexpected question in light of the question that was asked to FOGHORN LEGHORN(ie CM). He hesitated and said he would let Casey stay at his house for a short time. JUST be honest she is a lying slat just like Baez said and now they can let their true feelings out! But true to form they choose to go for the deceptive or evasive answer.

I think one of Casey's attorneys accusing the other side of grandstanding is rich! LOL!!

Do they realize the old saying that "Pride goeth before a fall." is true. Or let's hope it's true! I think Karma has a way of biting people in the butt. Look at what happened to Johnny Cochran ! Look at what happened to Michael Jackson! I am sure we could come up with a lot more people received retribution in some way or other. Is it fate? Is it karma? Is it just bad choices? I don't know but I like to think that what goes around comes around.

Ok, thats Richard Hornsby tweeting. He, ironically, got called for Jury Duty. He's tweeting that the only TV in the waiting room is playing Nancy Grace! He's not a fan...LOL!

Me!!! She got a trip to Disney for her and her family from ABC for spilling it on tv. I hope she enjoyed that trip because, really ... was it worth the hassle!?

And now she's crying that people are bothering her on facebook and sending her hate emails. Oh boo hoo. She was the one who said she wanted to be on the jury to begin with and now she's crying the blues. What's the saying ... be careful what you wish for?

I have zero pity for her. If she didn't realize what could/might happen by going public, especially in this electronic day and age, then she really is a moron.

There are 9 other jurors who kept their mouths shut and haven't had any hassles. Gee, I wonder why?! Because Juror #3 was the first one to go to the media, I am convinced the only reason she wanted to be on this trial so badly was because she had dollar signs in her eyes.

Again, Juror #3 - I hope the trip to Disney was worth it.

At first I thought wow that is a really expensive payoff even though I did not agree with it( I live in MA) but then when my husband pointed out to me that they LIVE approximately an hour or so away from Disney talk about money grubbing. HOW obnoxious! How unfeeling! And this chick is going to be a nurse? So in essence she went to Disney on blood money. NICE!

I wouldn't be surprised. Baez is originally from Puerto Rico. I bet he has family that is willing to take her in.

And then write a book....about how she stole them blind killed their dog and seduced their men. Wow she could be like modern day pirate! The bad kind not Jack Sparrow.

Well I know he says that, but in his NCIS interview he says that he and Casey went on a few dates (and later also spent a lot of time with both Casey and Casey while on leave in Orlando), and that it wasn't serious and they agreed they should just remain friends, etc. But JMO, the way Casey went through guys, I don't know if I really believe him about that, KWIM

BTW another thing Mark said was "that Casey told him that her brother Lee Anthony knew most of the story of what happened to Caylee and she would tell him (Mark) all about it "some day"

Wow! A kindred spirit with Casey. I did not know that! Maybe she should have tried to just slink under the carpet and keep a low profile.

I have watched both nights of the interview with the jury foreman. Here's my take.

1. George was combative with Baez.
2. George had selective memory.
3. George wasn't credible.
4. George had something to hide.
5. George probably had an affair with River Cruz
6. George might have covered up an accident.
7. George might have even been the murderer.
8. Scrutinized George at every turn.

CONCLUSION: Hmm. I thought Casey was the defendant. My bad.

1. The jury foreman is very intelligent.
2. Therefore, he was picked immediately to be the foreman.
3. One other juror expressed an interest in being the foreman, but everybody else wanted HIM (I suspicion this was Juror #3).
4. He knows how to read people. That's his job (as a high school coach).
5. There were several jurors that were instrumental in helping him organize things (though, from the sound of him, he could have gone it alone).

CONCLUSION: Pompous know-it-all.

1. After "dissecting" the jury instructions (which must have taken AT LEAST 5 minutes), they had an initial vote on first degree before they got down to business.
2. Two jurors voted guilty. 10 innocent.
3. Of the two, one was strongly convinced it was first degree and the other was wavering.
4. They went ahead and voted on the lying to law enforcement charges because there was no doubt on those, so they could get those out of the way.
5. They voted on manslaughter charges and it was 6 to 6.
6. All of the above took AT LEAST an HOUR.
7. After having paid such close attention during the trial, they then scrutinized the evidence.
8. Even though it took them less than 11 hours, you must understand that they took few breaks.
9. Somehow, the juror who was strongly convinced it was murder one, and then the six who thought manslaughter, all came together and TA DA....agreed there wasn't enough evidence.
10. Even though one might say that they came to this decision quickly, you must understand quantity vs. quality (is that something like quantitative analysis vs. qualitative analysis?)

CONCLUSION: B.S.

1. No one testified that they'd ever seen Casey mistreat Caylee.
2. Saw pictures of Caylee climbing pool ladder.
3. Saw picture of Caylee standing by the sliding glass door.
4. Disturbing that Casey partied for 31 days, but that's it---disturbing. They didn't take that into account in deliberations.
5. Could have been a bag of trash in the trunk instead of "decomp".
6. Cindy might have lied, but they didn't believe chloroform involved anyway, so no big deal.
7. No duct tape attached to bones; only to hair.
8. George, George, George.
9. When prosecution rested, jury foreman was STUNNED!!! He thought: IS THAT IT? IS THAT ALL THEY'VE GOT? I NEED MORE!!!! He (and the rest of his jury minions) needed a lot more evidence than THAT.
10. They took it all VERY SERIOUSLY.

CONCLUSION: MORONS.

Actually, that's heartening to me. Only $109 in one week from supporters "around the world"?

I'm beginning to think KC's "fame" will fizzle out.

I wanted to share this other local news story of a 2 year old's death, and the one thing that really stood out to me in the article:

A juror said, "But we also felt as the adult parents and caregivers, their responsibility was to preclude any chance that there could be an incident of any kind, because a 2-year-old could not protect herself," she said.

It makes me really wonder if the jurors in the ICA case knew they could make a lot more money giving a not guilty verdict...

I'm pleased to see that my state was able to find some competent people to serve on a jury; jurors that are able to connect the dots and figure out who the caregiver is.

Mark nejame's proposal looks good for controlling jury profiteering from a case.

I am tired of hearing respect the jury and the Constitution. Bleh. I am patriotic and respectful. These are different issues. The trial mileu has changed. We have to llok at how justice can proceed in this age.

I think the jurors could have made much more money if they had voted guilty. They would have been heroes, been in parades, had streets named after them maybe! Instead they are pariahs, can't be seen in public, don't even want people to know their names.
