Casey Anthony NOT GUILTY & Sentencing Thread 6

I had to make the trip by the Anthony house yesterday and the Caylee memorial sight before heading to work.

After going there and seeing how close she was found to the house it makes me crazy that they couldn't find her sooner.

I can't comprehend how they couldn't find her on August 13th.

Jason

RIP Caylee

My understanding is that the area had been erroneously marked off as having been thoroughly searched. The area that the body was found was also under water from the hurricane, I think.

George Anthony plans to lobby for Florida to pass 'Caylee's Law'
'If it reflects on my daughter, well, so be it,' says father of Casey Anthony

"This is a great legacy for my granddaughter. Other children still need assistance. If it reflects on my daughter, well, so be it," George Anthony wrote in an email to the Post, saying he plans to lobby for the bill in Florida.

Another Florida legislator is taking a different tack. Rep. Scott Randolph, D-Orlando, is proposing legislation that would prohibit jurors from receiving money in exchange for providing information or interviews related to a trial after it's over.

Way to go George!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

I know some people aren't supporters of Caylee's Law. It is unfortunate that we need a law like this in place. I realize the vast majority of people report when their child is missing/dead but I fear a few people will try to "pull a Casey" now that they saw what she got away with. Hopefully this law will prevent that from happening.

I am also very happy with the legislation that Scott Randolph is aiming for regarding juror compensation once the trial is over.

Anyone Sick of seeing Jenifer Ford? There is something about her that rubs me the wrong way. I am sure she got paid to put her face all over tv and now she is whining.

That is true but the wooded is not very big at all. Orlando had a lot of rain in 2008 but I don't think that area could have had more than 2 feet of standing water. Of course, hindsight is 20/20 but amazes me that the only wooded area near the house couldn't have been searched especially when called in 8/11/08. You could have had 20 guys put on waders and search the woods and be done in less than 4 hours. I think the Orlando police were getting too many calls, too many leads and they started not to take them seriously. I think after this situation the Orlando police will no longer take things for granted. Everyone makes mistakes and every situation gives someone an opportunity to learn or get better. I hope the Orlando police learn from their mistakes.

Good for George!! I hope he can continue to find ways to do good and help himself through this time.:bride:

Oh, good gravy ... juror #3 is on tv complaining she's getting nasty messages on FB and email. Well, who ho'd themselves out on TV? Suck it up, buttercup. Someone needs to tell her that if she didn't go pimping out her story, this wouldn't be happening to her. :sad2: And, just shut up about it now. Talking to the media more is only going to make it worse. What an idiot ... further proof that these jurors weren't the brightest bulbs ...

Hope that Disney trip was worth it, honey! :sad2:

Boo Hoo, cry me a river Juror #3   ...

I have watched both nights of the interview with the jury foreman. Here's my take.

1. George was combative with Baez.
2. George had selective memory.
3. George wasn't credible.
4. George had something to hide.
5. George probably had an affair with River Cruz
6. George might have covered up an accident.
7. George might have even been the murderer.
8. Scrutinized George at every turn.

CONCLUSION: Hmm. I thought Casey was the defendant. My bad.

1. The jury foreman is very intelligent.
2. Therefore, he was picked immediately to be the foreman.
3. One other juror expressed an interest in being the foreman, but everybody else wanted HIM (I suspicion this was Juror #3).
4. He knows how to read people. That's his job (as a high school coach).
5. There were several jurors that were instrumental in helping him organize things (though, from the sound of him, he could have gone it alone).

CONCLUSION: Pompous know-it-all.

:thumbsup2

1. After "dissecting" the jury instructions (which must have taken AT LEAST 5 minutes), they had an initial vote on first degree before they got down to business.
2. Two jurors voted guilty. 10 innocent.
3. Of the two, one was strongly convinced it was first degree and the other was wavering.
4. They went ahead and voted on the lying to law enforcement charges because there was no doubt on those, so they could get those out of the way.
5. They voted on manslaughter charges and it was 6 to 6.
6. All of the above took AT LEAST an HOUR.
7. After having paid such close attention during the trial, they then scrutinized the evidence.
8. Even though it took them less than 11 hours, you must understand that they took few breaks.
9. Somehow, the juror who was strongly convinced it was murder one, and then the six who thought manslaughter, all came together and TA DA....agreed there wasn't enough evidence.
10. Even though one might say that they came to this decision quickly, you must understand quantity vs. quality (is that something like quantitative analysis vs. qualitative analysis?)

Because once again, he's an expert when it comes to differentiating between quantity vs. quality because he "has to go to a lot of meetings in his profession" ... and he must have been watching tv prior to his interview because one of the legal eagles used the same statement of "quantity vs. quality" on HLN ...

CONCLUSION: B.S.

Totally ...

1. No one testified that they'd ever seen Casey mistreat Caylee.
2. Saw pictures of Caylee climbing pool ladder.
3. Saw picture of Caylee standing by the sliding glass door.
4. Disturbing that Casey partied for 31 days, but that's it---disturbing. They didn't take that into account in deliberations.
5. Could have been a bag of trash in the trunk instead of "decomp".
6. Cindy might have lied, but they didn't believe chloroform involved anyway, so no big deal.
7. No duct tape attached to bones; only to hair.
8. George, George, George.
9. When prosecution rested, jury foreman was STUNNED!!! He thought: IS THAT IT? IS THAT ALL THEY'VE GOT? I NEED MORE!!!! He (and the rest of his jury minions) needed a lot more evidence than THAT.
10. They took it all VERY SERIOUSLY.

and he thought that John Ashton's "smirks" were distasteful ... well Mr. know-it-all-Foreman, I find your verdict to be distasteful ...

CONCLUSION: MORONS

To say the least ...

and if he said "decomp" or "aaaaand" one more time, I think I was going to  ...

I don't know if Caylee's Law is "needed". How many people don't report? Well, not many. But those who don't might not be punishable on other counts...as we have seen!

I think the law is needed by the people who are so frustrated by this case. People feel the need to do something. ....To act for Caylee, to try to attempt to act for other children... we feel so helpless in this case that these types of laws and responses help people feel less helpless.

More uggghs. Watching the psychologist person who evaluated Casey and found no pathology on Dr. Drew. Drew says "that's impossible!" and I agree. Guess KC can fool a large number of people. This guy says she is immature. What the heck?

This Dr. Kroft is not so perceptive. He says that KC herself can't believe how she acted or how immature she was. Yup, uhuh... that is what I would say too. Note to Dr. Kroft..... she's LYING!

I would so love to see KC questioned under Pentothal!!

Anyone Sick of seeing Jenifer Ford? There is something about her that rubs me the wrong way. I am sure she got paid to put her face all over tv and now she is whining.

Me!!! She got a trip to Disney for her and her family from ABC for spilling it on tv. I hope she enjoyed that trip because, really ... was it worth the hassle!? :sad2:

And now she's crying that people are bothering her on facebook and sending her hate emails. Oh boo hoo. She was the one who said she wanted to be on the jury to begin with and now she's crying the blues. What's the saying ... be careful what you wish for?

I have zero pity for her. If she didn't realize what could/might happen by going public, especially in this electronic day and age, then she really is a moron.

There are 9 other jurors who kept their mouths shut and haven't had any hassles. Gee, I wonder why?! Because Juror #3 was the first one to go to the media, I am convinced the only reason she wanted to be on this trial so badly was because she had dollar signs in her eyes.

Again, Juror #3 - I hope the trip to Disney was worth it. :sad2:

ICA gave Forensic psychologist Harry Krop permission to speak on Dr. Drew spent 20hrs w/ KC. No axis 1 or 2. Axis 1 is the main diagnosis for a mental disorder like depression, anxiety or bipolar. Axis 2 is for a chronic behavioral diagnosis like her lying etc. Reason ICA gave permission was because he cleared her of any mental disorders, and she wants everyone to hear what he thinks...

No borderline sociopathic traits which Dr. Drew cant agree with said "thats impossible". HK said she's intelligent, he did not see the ICA that is shown on TV and on videos. He saw her after she's been in jail for 3 years and, she has an hard time understanding how she could have been so immature and engaged in the behavior that everyone else has seen.

Has everyone just gone loco that comes in contact with Casey Anthoney :confused3

I hope that, if anything, it can be the one thing that might keep a guilty person from walking free. If this were law before this trial, it would've been the one thing that would've kept Casey where she belongs ... in prison.

Looking at NG screen it says Jurors believe that George murdered Caylee. I never heard about any juror saying that. I believe I heard some say he was innocent from everything or maybe had a hand in covering up but not murder.

I think so. I heard, I think on HLN yesterday about speculation Casey would be headed to Puerto Rico.

I wouldn't be surprised. Baez is originally from Puerto Rico. I bet he has family that is willing to take her in.

What ... does his family in PR live in some remote shack that does not have a tv or access to the internet to know what Casey's story is?!!?

I have no idea. But since she has a special relationship with Baez, it wouldn't faze me to hear that he is helping her out by sending her to PR, if he still has family there.

Oh yeah, according to the foreman:

FOREMAN: There was a suspicion of him. That as -- that was a part of our conversation that we had of the -- well, what I'd call the round robin topics that we had when we were doing deliberation. That was brought up.
(Yep, going over George with a fine tooth comb)
VAN SUSTEREN: Suspicious that he was involved in covering up the death, suspicious involved with the -- an accidental death, or suspicious he was a murder?
FOREMAN: All three.
VAN SUSTEREN: Really, that he was a murderer?
FOREMAN: All three. We don't know. We don't know. The suspicions were raised.
VAN SUSTEREN: In the deliberation room?
FOREMAN: We talked about it in deliberation. Yes, I can go a little more in depth into what we did in the deliberation room since I was the one who had to orchestrate the whole situation. (As I mentioned earlier, Mr. Know-it-All)

Well if doctors are finding Casey has no mental disorder, then she is just pure, unadulterated EVIL!

No mental illness, means she knows what she was doing, and she knows why she lied. She doesnt want to be held accountable for anything.
