Casey Anthony NOT GUILTY & Sentencing Thread 6

I had a feeling this was going to happen. The prosecution did not prove that Casey killed her child. No matter what people may think, there was no proof.

I find it very interesting how many people come out of the woodworks on this thread but have not chimed in at all during threads 1-5 ...

Nothing to say throughout the whole trial until it's over with ... interesting, indeed.

Well, i am not shy about having gone to law school and having a "legal mind." However, I highly value common sense. There was more than enough evidence presented to this jury to warrant a first degree murder conviction. Plenty.

I have been concerned since jury selection, when I saw how many decent potential jurors were being excused and which were being kept. Frankly, some of the leftovers didn't look that promising to me. Lots of red flags.

How did we ever get a conviction in the days before DNA, videos, etc.? Sheesh!

Casey is dancing on Caylee's grave tonight.

The Anthonys got home at around 8:30, drove into the garage, and shut the door. I wonder how much of a relationship they have with any of their neighbors. I know many of them want them out of the neighborhood. As it is, they have to live with people coming around to the dumping ground down the street, but at least those people aren't at that location angry.

I thought the Anthony's were in hiding? Death threats and all, did they really go home? I wonder where Lee is....

I have a very good legal mind, thank you. I very seriously doubt that you share it.

I referred to Judge Perry because he could have dismissed the charges many times, and he has an acknowledged brilliant legal mind. He is not my favorite Judge because I actively oppose the death penalty. But the man seriously knows his Law! He thought the case had merit. FYI, Perry was the prosecutor in the "Black Widow" case way back when. A very circumstantial case but he won it and she was executed.

Please, before you pontificate with inadequate information and damn the State of Florida with an apparent wish for murderers to roam free, perhaps you should email Judge Perry himself with your thoughts not waste them on us.;)

Ashton is a wonderful attorney. It is very sad if he retires with this case. He did a great job and I hope he knows it.

Other people are dealing with the rest of your meager protestations and I don't want points. So . . .

Have a good day.:)

Let's not forget a Grand Jury also thought the case had merit - and that was before the remains were found.

Oh man, I bet you wish you could put that genie back into the bottle, huh?

No, my typo does not change the reality...it may, momentarily give those who are unhappy with my position some false "joy"...but the fact is what the jury decided. Plain and simple no matter what other opinions there maybe.

Tell that to Scott Peterson who sits on death row convicted due to circumstantial evidence. Maybe he should've hired Baez ...

Im finding it harder to deal with folks who are hiding behind the "its our system" explanation to accept that a killer has gone free.

All I hear is that criminals have a right to be acquitted because there is no smoking gun. How did we ever convict anyone before DNA, video, audio and th like? Common sense people! A jury is there to judge and evaluate. To peruse the evidence, to really examine it,not sit on their butts and wait for the evidence to slap them in the face! After nearly 2 months of testimony, they reviewed the evidence in 10 hours? I call BS!

There is really no proof that casey was guilty, and I thought the jury made the right descision. You have to prove a case without a reasonable doubt. I have a feeling there is a lot more to this story, and the grandparents are into it up to their eyeballs. As a juror you have to absolute proof to put someone to death. That's a big responsibility. Judgement can't be based on emotion which is what people on this board have a tendency to do.

What If they came back in 10 hours with a guilty verdict? Would you cry BS then? How many pieces of evidence would you have needed to see again to declare her guilty? I am not trying to be confrontational, but I don't think you would have needed even one hour to come back with a guilty verdict.
I might have. But when you have THIS much evidence you better be darn sure. From following this case for 3 years , I know which pieces of evidence I kept looking at. I watched those jail visits repeatedly. I read a lot of her friends depositions more than once. I read and reread Dr G's autopsy report. Even after reading all these, during the trial, I looked at some again. Not unreasonable to expect a jury to do the same.

I'm not a regular joe....my name might be earl :lmao:
So you're saying you're not qualified to have an opinion?....

BaWHAhahahahahahaaaa!!!!!:rotfl2:

YOU are a comic GOD!!! :worship:

No, that would be you who admitted that you have no more legal credentials than anyone else here, while you bash other posters knowledge of the law. That would also be you who can't even keep which side won today.... In case you missed it, you have said you're not qualified to have an opinion and apparently didn't even realize it.
