Casey Anthony NOT GUILTY & Sentencing Thread 6

This is horrendous. Threads like this make me want to avoid jury duty to begin with. To think that if for some reason I was on a jury for something important and got shown on TV that people who track me down and post a link with my name and address is really disturbing.

it's called Public Record. don't like it - don't commit a crime and get arrested. life a good life and you won't have to worry about people tracking it down and posting a link.

The time that she has served so far was in an isolated area at the jail, I am curious if the remainder will be served in general population and if she will go to an actual prison. Going in with general population may make it difficult for her to remain on "good behavior" status.

How much money will juror's make?

As much as news outlets are willing to pay...

i wasn't on yesterday either - what a day - dh went to pick up Cassie at camp and the car died - they were 45 min away and of course it was the 1 day where every car in the family was gone. my parents was stalling and was in being looked at, my younger brother had dh's car downtown, older brother was at work with his car and mine was with dh and dead.

had to wait for my aunt to come home and lend us hers then head up to figure out what was wrong. 2 hours later CAA came and we found out it was a loose connection to the battery so we had to get that fixed

quick dinner and off we go to see Nikki.

when we get there there is a dr in front of the incubator so we're standing there waiting when the nurse comes over and tells us she was moved to the room behind us and is now in a crib. woo hoo.

she's off the oxygen but still on the cpac machine but is breathing just normal air.

11 days old and i'm counting but still no word on when she can come home :(

Oh Kurby, what a day... I'm glad Nicole is doing so well, that is great news!!!

Hearing what the jurors have to say is very disheartening; makes me lose faith in our jury system. I haven't heard a well-spoken coherent juror yet, so maybe I just don't "get it" yet about their verdict.

If anyone acts violently towards Casey, they should be prosecuted (or persecuted ;) as a woman on the streets of Orlando said..."the persecutors didn't prove their case". Gotcha! :thumbsup2).

It's amazing... these jurors are truly a group of her peers, completely unable to grasp what it was they were supposed to be discussing and how.

Edited to add - I agree with you.
I think that jury instructions need to be written at an easier reading level. I am in a medical field and our written instructions for patients need to be written at a 6th grade reading level and avoid medical terms that are not defined. Many people can't read fluently above that level and lots of unfamiliar terms and stress make it more difficult to understand what is heard or read.
If people don't understand something, they tend to ignore it. I think some of the comments of the jurors who are speaking up have shown they did not understand the instructions or the possible things they could find her guilty of.

My question to you is, if we have to dumb it down so much do we really want these people looking at forensic evidence and making an educated decision? My answer to that question is no.

She looks pretty confident today...

That's because she knows she's going free...

Juror #3 mugshot CLICK

What a bunch of misfits... sorry to say.

who would be appointed? baez? or someone else

Can they post bail for her now?
Don't think so. I think part has to do in that she is serving for the check fraud charges.

This team cannot do her appeal. She would need appointed counsel unless she can hire someone.. Wonder if they have a deal for her already....

Public record is public record and the juror released her own name. Much of the infractions of the juror were part of voir dire (sp?) anyway.

This thread did not out her.:confused3

Will she be sent back to solitary or will she be sent back to general population for the remainder of her stay? If back in general, maybe street justice will be served and she will not have a lovely stay for the rest of her sentence.

I love that she is not being released today. HA

See now what you are doing is called raising speculative doubts. Something Florida jurors are instructed NOT to do.

Question for you regarding the bolded above - why on earth would someone cover up an accident? Seriously - what credible reason would you have to do that? You cannot get into trouble for an accident. And even if you thought you would be in trouble why would you hold on to the cover up even when LE is telling you that accidents happen and no one would blame you.

This is completely illogical and unreasonable and the fact that so many believe this has my brain bleeding.
ETA: The only way a jury would EVER have 100% proof is if they were convened in a courtroom and the crime took place right in front of their faces.

Because she is a young attractive mother? MY own dh said that very thing to me. This is a man who is in the military and has been to war and he said she could never be so evil. His mind rejected it. I really think people can't imagine such evil would not look ugly or hit them in the face as to be undeniable. A pretty girl could never be a monster. :confused3

I honestly don't understand that point of view. Sociopath comes in all kinds of packages.

Hi! I didn't watch any of the interviews yet, but I read this: they said they are sick because they don't think she's innocent & they are sick that they have to set her free. They don't think the prosecution proved her guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

What people are not understanding is : if they thought she was guilty, how could the prosecution not have proven it?

Because they were in a hurry and wanted to be done. I have not seen interviews and dont want to. I dont support them. I wonder what their friends and family think? They may not have many friends after this. My hope would be nulification. Yeah I know nice try....a girl can dream.

Hey, if you can't to the time don't do the crime. :confused3

Back to the cell, Casey. Be glad that you can walk out shortly and you're not living the rest of your life there.

Love that judge says they're 4 separate lies because it caused LE time/effort/manpower. However, it's a shame she won't be shelling out more than $1K per count because that little bit would never cover the costs that were expended. Hate that she is under protective custody, though.

They're saying that Casey was so chipper and smiling this morning and thought she was walking free today. They're saying she was dressed to go home. But where is home for Casey?

BTW - Marcia Clark looks great lately!!!

Well, I agree that she didn't ask to be on a jury but she did commit a crime which caused her name and address to be on the internet.

:thumbsup2 I wouldn't have any trouble serving on a jury...no mugshot of me anywhere. :)

I wonder. After all, we all know now that she's not a child killer, so she wouldn't be a target, right? ;)

ok i'm still confused with that "time served" crap.

she's serving her convictions for fraud so how can that be used to go towards her sentence now?

if she served and was relased before this convinction it wouldn't count so why does it count because she's still in jail?

it the 4 years shoudl start the day AFTER she finishes the time for what she was convicted of

Did you see the signs protestors held up outside? This one is classic......

"Somewhere a village is missing 12 idiots......"

So true.....

They didn't have to "set her free!" Why didn't they find her guilty of one of the lesser charges??

It makes me really question if they understood the options. Sigh.
