No, I can pretty much be certain that I won't be perusing jails looking for love. I can almost be pretty certain that if DH wasn't around, Id be very careful who I brought around my kids. And I can also be pretty certain that I would not choose a felon over my kids. But that's just me.

Especially a convicted murderer and rapist who apparently lived a life of torturing women.

I can't even say thanks but no thanks.

Hmm..to exhausted to do deposition, but not to exhausted to appeal. Went through 4 pages since I last was on here. So court is resuming at 3:30 with a new judge. I didnt even think about look alikes out there and people doing that. That is terrible. She is probably afraid to return to work or do anything else.

So apparently you can come out and admit in open court that you lied, you can then be convicted based on your assertions and confessions and THEN, you can appeal said convictions of self-admitted crimes.. This case truly boggles the mind! But I guess if you can get away with killing you child, appealing the lying conviction doesn't seem like such a big deal....

I think the reason they are appealing is they are still saying that it should have been one count instead of 4 like they said at sentencing.

Im sure that will be the reason they use but truthfully, she already did the time. To me, this is just a tactic to delay the deposition and to ward off the State of Florida's attempt to recover costs of investigations.

Ok, so I am at a total loss as to how Casey can appeal the lying convictions? Anyone know what the basis for that would be?

This is out of line IMO. Who can ever explain why someone falls in love in another person? Do I think that I would ever do this- fall in love with anyone else besides my huusband-no, however, no one here knows exactly what they would do in any situation. We might think we know but in reality, we don't.

This is beyond laughable. Nobody I know, associate with or care to know hangs around jails, felons or criminals to find love. I can guarantee I am not interested in finding love in such a place with a man who took pleasure at torturing women. So to say nobody knows what we would do in that situation? What this reveals is someone who's morality bar is set so low it doesn't even register. Thus she is the perfect mitigation specialist for Casey Anthony.

I don't think you really need a basis, just an attorney who will take it, you can always find a basis later as we've unfortunately seen.

A defense team can stand in open court and make all kinds of claims without any type of proof to back up those claims because the defense doesn't bear the burden of proof. They could be lying or telling the truth but it just doesn't matter.

On top of that, the defense can get up numerous times and announce that his client is GUILTY of LYING not murder. He can remind us of this time and time again.

And now, the client gets to appeal what her defense said even though the things they said are what allowed her to be found not guilty in the first place.

For a country that has the best justice system in the world, I am shocked at how totally ****ed up the system is.

I totally agree with you, it is very frustrating. I guess it is no worse if someone if found guilty they still have the right to file appals on that as well. It seems the people who are guilty have more rights than anyone else. Believe me I do know this.

You'd think. My point was that I doubt this woman ever thought she would fall in love with a killer. I'm sure it wasn't a a part of either her life or career plan. Also, it was don't judge because you never know what life has in store for you down the road. There can be surprises.

Call me old-fashioned, but No. 1 on my list of pet peeves is the whole rape-torture-murder thing. It tends to be a red flag.
