I do have to correct you.
She did cover it to some extent that summer.
My point was--she would have never picked it up if not for the local media.
The local media had it, because in the beginning George and Cindy were trying in vain to find their granddaughter. Then the mystery began.
It is naive for anyone to blame Nancy Grace--especially since Judge Perry had to leave Orlando and found a jury just an hour away. A jury who seemingly knew very little or "vaguely" remembered the case. Local media was the issue with why the defense team (and maybe prosecution?) asked for a jury from elsewhere.
Baez and Company mentioning that this is NG's fault is just as sensational as what she did.
And if so many people don't like NG--I have my doubts they looked to her for the final say on the matter.
When I moved, I did watch her a smidge--as I'm a visual person. So going to my former local news just wasn't enough for me to get updated. I did have to stop watching her. Not so much for her opinion--but I don't like her format. It is extremely repetitive. (FTR--I also hate when actual shows for entertainment are done this way--they go to commercial, come back and replay about a minutes worth of video--drives me insane. Just get on with it!). So from a production standpoint, I don't care for her show.
But she is just as entitled to her opinion as anyone else.
As for the jurors....well, I do believe they made a mistake. They were hasty. No ifs ands or buts about it.
And as long as a juror got to conveniently make his cruise on time...reasonable doubt!
