Casey Anthony Civil Trials Discussion

I thought that "Mr. Baez called and I was supposed to go alone" spiel was in regard to Phil asking Cindy if she thought that GA molested Casey. Because GA said "I didn't know why I couldn't go (couldn't be there?)" or something to that effect ... so that led me to believe that the Baez calling Cindy in was to discuss the molestation stuff. I could be wrong in my interpretation of that. We'll soon find out!
That's how I interpreted it.
Yeah - those two statements floored me as well. CA's whole attitude was unreal (surreal?) and cavalier. I understand that they believe that once the spirit is gone, the body is just a shell ... but how can you not care about how that "shell" was treated? CA's attitude was like "Yeah the body was dumped but Caylee's spirit wasn't there anyway, so it's ok. We were going to cremate that shell anyway, so ya know, it just sat in the woods and nature kinda started to decompose it for us. Whatever."
I wish Dr Phil had throw in "Is it OK with you that Caylee's body was chewed on and dragged around by animals?" How many families of soldiers who were executed and had their bodies displayed and dragged around and jeered at, said "Oh well, it's just his shell." I hate to sound so graphic and I'm sitting here with a knot in my stomach thinking of both situations, feeling sick...why does CINDY not feel sick enough about what happened to Caylee's BODY that she can even make those statements?? :(
Here is how I picture the scenario if Casey showed up on CA & GA doorstep.

Ding Dong
Hmmmm......wonder who that could be?
The happy couple walks to the front door together.
George opens the door and his jaw drops when he sees his daughter.
Cindy shoves George out of the way and embraces Casey.
Casey pushes back and says she is only staying if dad gets the boot.
Cindy shoves George out the front door, yells that she will toss his stuff out on the front lawn later, pulls Casey inside, and slams the door shut.
Perfect, as always! :thumbsup2
I have to check when I get home, but I think its this coming Monday.
Yup, Monday.

We need the dialogue, Lisa!

My husband and I were sitting on the sofa watching the show together when Dr. Phil said he would ask them that question next time. DH and I started acting it out. I was shoving him out of the way and he was pretending to choke me and slap me across the face and say, "Wake up, you idiot. Our daughter is a cold blooded killer" We were cracking up and then I realized we are really strange people doing this in our living room. We really have no life! :lmao:

:lmao: I want to watch part 3 with you two! lol And just for fun, can you perform the Kronk story too?

One thing about the interview that Dr Phil kept harping on was whether George and Cindy believed that Casey borrowed the shovel to bury Caylee in the woods (as Dr Phil seems to believe :confused3). I don't believe that Casey brought the shovel to the woods to bury Caylee. I think she just tossed her there, like trash gets tossed in the woods. I think she borrowed the shovel to dig a hole in the backyard, and she couldn't do it...maybe was trying to get those pavers in the playhouse up (therefore, she only had the shovel for an hour or so and whenever the neighbor looked, the car was still there). And that that's why Caylee's body was near the playhouse, where the dogs hit on the scent.

And what was that that Cindy said about Casey not being able to come forward and admit the drowning because then she'd have to produce a body, and the body had been moved? So Casey was in jail, knowing her daughter drowned, and she knew the body had been moved HOW? And by WHOM? Who would have told her that?? What the heck was that all about?

I totally agree with you on the above!

Cindy said that Caylee was found in a different place than where Casey "thought" she was.

Maybe Casey thought the body would've been decomposed to nothing by that time? Let's face it, we all know it takes much longer for bones to decompose than flesh ... but Casey's not that smart. Maybe she thought that the bones would be gone, too? :confused3

But, still, Casey could've led them to the approximate area where she tossed Caylee and they could've concentrated on that particular section rather than dragging area ponds, etc.

How easy would it have been to say "Caylee drowned, I panicked and dumped the body in this approximate area." But, that would've admitted her guilt at not attending to her child properly and they would've tried to frame her for covering up a murder. She needed time to come up with more plans and that's why she lied about Zanny. She hoped that the Zanny lie would buy time for more planning/lies, for the body to further decompose, for people to stop looking, or whatever else she wanted.

I only watched a tiny bit of them on Dr. Phil so I don't have the whole story, but I was talking to my DD this morning and was wondering about the deep, deep denial that Cindy is still in.

George also (to me) was in denial for years (at least publicly) until the trial and him being thrown under the bus. He seems to be admitting now that Casey had something to do with Caylee's disappearance and possibly even her death. I wonder if it had been Cindy thrown under the bus in the trial how she would be reacting now, would that have been enough of a wake-up call for her to admit to herself and maybe even others that Casey indeed was involved?

I guess we will never know now that Casey is a free woman. Makes me wonder though if the reason Cindy is in such deep denial is because she knew something at the time and is now covering for it and will continue to do so until her last breath.

It all just breaks my heart because it seems no one (well, maybe George now) ever took Caylee's side in all this in her own family... the only people who seem to care about justice for that little girl are the ones who never even knew her. :sad1:

I think GA has believed all along that Casey killed Caylee. I think he knew better when it came to CA and kept his mouth shut and didn't make waves publicly.

CA does not want to admit that her daughter was capable of murder. And, what mother wants to admit that they had a hand in creating a monster? With that said, CA has to come up with excuses for Casey so it doesn't look like she raised a murderer.

I think GA was the only one who ever took Caylee's side. I am sure he wanted to just shake/slap/beat the truth out of Casey but Cindy would never allow him to do that. I am sure that GA would wash his hands of Casey if it wouldn't tick CA off. As Lisa R. said, CA would welcome Casey home and GA would not.

Oh, to be a fly on the wall of the Anthony residence throughout everything -- from the minute 911 was called, throughout the trial, and now.

I can see Cindy constantly saying "But George, a group of her peers found her not guilty!" and George going "Not guilty isn't the same as innocent! She got away with murder!" and Cindy yelling "Don't say that. The jury said she didn't kill Caylee. And, God spoke through the jury so I know that she didn't do it! She had a brain tumor that went away, she had post-partum schizophrenia, she had seizures, insert every other excuse here!"

For George to claim KC had help is imo dilusional on his part...he too is not fully dealing with the facts

I don't for one nanosecond believe that there was an actual person she could have scapegoated and didn't. She did it alone and he needs to face it

I think she might have had help moving the body.

I agree.

Cindy keeps harping on Casey being this normal person before her pregnancy, but there's so much evidence to the contrary. I wish Dr Phil would interview Cindy's brother and mother, and the ex-SIL.

Why? :confused3 It's not like Caylee was too heavy to move herself. And this person would have had to have been there when Caylee died...no way would Casey involve anyone after the fact. And if someone was involved after the fact, they would've come forward; they'd have to know they'd get full immunity.

I believe George is still in denial but what a stark contrast to Cindy. I think his denial is normal, all things considered. He doesn't want to believe Casey acted alone and who can blame him? Who wants to believe their daughter is capable of killing her own child? So he feels that there may have been other people there that helped Casey. I think that is classic denial but he isn't excusing Casey. He knows Casey is responsible but it helps him to sleep at night thinking that she had to have deviant friends that participated in that heinous act.

Cindy is just flat out making excuses. She is making up medical problems that don't exist. She has convinced herself that Casey wasn't responsible. I'm not even sure denial is the appropriate word. If there is anyone in that family suffering from some type of brain trauma, I'm thinking it is Cindy.

I agree. Apparently, he does acknowledge that he thinks she was overdosed with something though (and not accidentally drowned).

CA seems to conveniently "forget" what Casey was like before she got pregnant (a liar and manipulator).

She's always had her mother wrapped around her finger. No wonder she didn't want GA to move back in.

This ^

I think Casey did it herself. It wouldn't be difficult and wouldn't require any additional help.

I also find it interesting that GA thinks that Caylee was given an overdose of drugs and did not drown. Because, let's face it ... finding your kid had died due to accidental drowning would not be a crime and you'd call 911. There would be no reason to panic since kids drown in pools every year. Especially in FL. Now, you child dying due to overdose of Xanax, chloroform or whatever else would be considered a crime, so how could you call 911?

Even if Casey purposely held Caylee underwater and drowned her, it could come off looking like an accidental drowning. Casey knew she'd go to prison for giving her an overdose of drugs.

Casey couldn't even lie and say "I left my Xanax on the dresser and Caylee popped the entire bottle" because Casey wasn't on Xanax. And, what excuse could she use for Caylee chloroforming herself to death? There is none.

You'd call 911 for a child who died due to drowning. Even if you held your kid underwater and drowned her with your own hands, it still would look accidental, I'm sure. But you wouldn't call 911 for a child who you overdosed especially when you're not on whatever drugs you gave your kid.

I wish prosecutors had called neighbors and asked them if they ever heard a commotion at the house that day. Especially if George was YELLING at Casey.

And I don't believe for a minute that George or anyone else would say "friggin'". ;)

Casey Ordered To Pay $97K In Investigative Costs

http://www.wftv.com/news/29195336/detail.html

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Casey Anthony has been ordered by Judge Belvin Perry to pay over $97,000 in costs for the investigation into the search for her daughter, Caylee Marie Anthony.

Judge Belvin Perry's ruling Thursday was well short of the more than $500,000 that prosecutors and law enforcement agencies in Orlando were seeking.

Casey was acquitted in July on charges of murdering her daughter, Caylee. But the 25-year-old was convicted of four counts of lying to authorities. She told officers a baby sitter had the child. Authorities later learned the baby sitter never existed, but the investigation drained manpower.

Casey has appealed her convictions.

She has been ordered to pay $97000 in investigative costs. It is not the whole amount but at least it is something.
