Case for iPad and iPod Touch 4th Gen

Recommendations for a case for an iPad 2 and iPod Touch 4th Generation

Will be used by a 10 year old and 7 year old respectively.

They currently have DS Lites that I bought Nerf cases for since they do tend to drop them.

I'm looking for something protective BUT also somewhat not bulky so it can be easily packed for trips (more concerned about size on iPad).

I was told and recommended otterbox communter and defender cases. can be bought at just about anyplace that sellls apple products.

I have an otter box on my phone and managed to crack the case (although my phone is intact which is the point I guess!!). Hmmm...will have to research the iPad version. Thank you!!!

I have a Rocketfish case for my iPad. It's one-piece and the cover folds to allow the back camera to work properly. (Which is why I didn't buy an Otterbox. All the ones in the stores blocked the camera port.). The Rocketfish case also becomes a stand so I can watch videos or type. I've already tested its protection capabilities, having dropped my iPad on the driveway. The case corners scratched and there's a scrape on the cover, but the iPad is unscathed.

Best buy had that case on sale for the lowest price.

iPod touch, I would go with an Otterbox. I have the Commuter case for my iPod and its perfect, not bulky but still sturdy and protective. Best price was on amazon.

We bought my DD (then 6) an otterbox defender case for her ipod. It is great! They have the black one on amazon for $20 right now.

Not sure the name of it, but, we bought DD the magnetic cover for her Ipad. It has saved the Ipad a couple times now. I recommend it to everyone now. I think it cost $39. So worth it.

My daughter managed to crack her otterbox as well (ipod is fine). I emailed them about it - they responded quickly! I had to email them pictures of the crack and they mailed out a replacement at no charge right away! I was very pleased with the customer service. It was about 6 months old - not sure what their warranty period is.
