carseats on transfers

Do you bring carseats for the Disney transfer from the airport to the port? My brother has three young children and would like to avoid carting their carseats around the airport.

If you're asking about the DCL transport (buses), no. Car seats are not used on buses.

As far as I know, in Florida, car seats are required in all cars for all under age 6

, including taxis, however I found this description about the law:
There are exemptions, including children being driven by unpaid drivers who are not in the child’s immediate family, children being transported for medical emergencies and children with a medical condition necessitating an exception. Parents bear the responsibility of putting their children in seats in cabs and limousines, and the operator of the for-hire vehicle is not liable, the law says.

I read that as the parent must supply the car seat for a taxi. Now, if you were to show up for a taxi ride without one, I don't know if they would refuse you, or not.

Well, there's no car seat laws in those ports, as far as I know. You just take your chances. Some vehicles may not even have seatbelts. I know we took an excursion in Tortola that the seating was basically benches in the back of a truck with a canopy style cover.

Yipes! You know, now that I think of it, I think I rode in a similar vehicle on St. Thomas one time. I was in college at the time so it didn't even occur to me that it wasn't a great mode of transport for small children (or anyone, for that matter). Thanks for your help!

The Florida law with taxis just makes any liabilty fall on the parents. Basically it is their choice if they have a car seat or not and it is not up to the taxi organization to install, maintain, or provide one. I've never seen a taxi driver deny anyone for not having one.

there weren't even seatbelts in the taxis we used in the caribbean, so taking car seats would be an incredible waste of effort!!
