Cars????

I would recommend Cars Land at Disneyland Resort in California. It's next door at Disneyland's sister park, Disney's California Adventure (DCA). The Cars characters also show up in the Pixar Play Parade at DCA.

mom2rtk, I just want to know when you took those pictures without having anyone in them. ;)

I'm an early riser and often walk the resorts with my camera while I wait for my family to wake up. :) EXIF data on those photos say I took them around 7:15 AM on 12/9/12.

mom2rtk is female. ;)

Otherwise I guess I would be Dad2rtk. ;)

:offtopic: At least kinda. If your boy likes Cars - go to Disneyland. Go now - cancel Walt Disney World (and I live next to WDW and I'm saying this!). The 60th anniversary is on now, and everything is supercute! In one of the Star Wars store, they even stock a limited edition Stormtrooper figure that is exclusive to THAT store, and DL, and is only out for the 60th. If you like SW memorabilia, that is a great score.

But back to carsland. Go there. Take your WDW money, book a stay at one of the Disney hotels (I like the Disneyland one, cause it's the original one, but any is good) or one of the good member hotels that are right across the friggin street from Disneyland!! and enjoy every bit of it. Oh, and get dinner at Goofy's Kitchen. One of the best character buffets that has kid friendly and adult friendly food. And Disneyland's Trader Sam's is really really good!

Carsland is amazing. Your kid will be in Cars heaven and you will never get him to leave! You can even get popcorn in safety cones or oil cans! And Radiator Racers is a great ride.

Caveat about Disneyland though, Fantasyland has NO fastpasses. And no fastpasses in Fantasyland made this Bluegrrl very blue. VERY! Rope Drop is the most important thing there for Fantasyland, otherwise you are stuck.

But drop that $$ and go now while the 60th is on. WDW will always be here. 60th anniversary won't.

At least the standby lines actually MOVE. That of course is because there is no fastpass that has to be prioritized over the standby folks. :)

I will say it's more of a pain to get on PP at DL. But we'll take that as a tradeoff for being able to ride Space over and over by fastpass in the same day if we want. And Indy. That one trumps all the others.

True that. It just threw me for a loop - waiting for PP for an hour with my 3yr old :crazy2: - well, at least he made friends with some other 3yr olds in line!

Oh, and this part is cool too - they have a Pixar parade there, with the Cars folks in it - and they talk and everything! And they do a "meet and greet" at the Cosy Cone with Lighting, Mater and (I think?) either Doc or Ramon. AND THEY TALK!! It's awesome.

This was why we went to Disneyland last year, just to see Cars Land before they got too old to enjoy it. I can't compare to Disney World yet, but it was definitely great and probably a bit cheaper.

You know, we aren't even Cars fans but we loved Carsland at DLR. I can't even imagine how much my sons would have loved this as young boys. Sigh.

My 2 yr old is obsessed, too. We were going to stay in a Cars Suite at AoA but SSR came thru with the spring discount so we dumped AoA. And going to Cali is not in the cards, so I guess he'll just have to watch the movie along with Mater Tales!

I haven't been to WDW since I was a kid (20+ years ago!!!!). We're planning on taking our kids this year for their first time, and my son is a huge cars fan (especially lightning mcqueen). I've been looking through the attractions but I'm having a hard time finding anything for the cars characters. Am I missing something or is there just not much?
If you are a Cars fan then a trip to Disneyland is a MUST DO!! If can't make it now, start saving for a trip in the near future. Carsland in Cal Adv Park is remarkable!!!
