We have a chance to see the premier of Cars at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte but my DS has a t-ball game that night. Should we go to the premier or t-ball??? I hate to let the team down but how many other movie premiers will we ever get to see. And this is Disney even.

For us we'd probably go to the t-ball game as the whole team is counting on you. Is this a premier where he will meet famous people that he knows or is it just a regular premier showing? I think the only way we'd skip the game would be if it was an over the top chance in a lifetime walk the red carpet event. In the end you have to decide what you'd rather do. princess:

I say go play T-ball and give the premier tickets to us :thumbsup2

Seriously, if I were in your shoes I would most likely ask my child which he would like to do and take that into consideration. When you play a sport, there will always be a time or two that you have to miss.

From what I understand the people who did many of the voices are going to be there. I'm not sure who just yet. I know Richard Petty, Humpy Wheeler, and Paul Newman (I believe) are going to be there.

Hey, that isn't bad. Where can I get info-time, date, etc.????

We in the Charlotte metro area.

What does your son want to do? I would totally want to go to the premier! :)

NASCAR animated film to premier at Lowe's
Charlotte Business Journal - March 23, 2006

The animated film CARS will premiere May 26 at Lowe's Motor Speedway.

The film was produced by Walt Disney Studios and Pixar Animation Studios.

The film features the voices of Paul Newman, Owen Wilson, Bonnie Hunt, Larry the Cable Guy and NASCAR legends Richard Petty and Darrell Waltrip. They are expected to attend the event.

Filmmaker John Lasseter, whose credits include Toy Story and A Bug's Life, is also slated to attend.

Disney says 30,000 tickets will be sold for the screening; proceeds will go to Speedway Children's Charities and Association of Hole in the Wall Gang Camps.

Organizers say the event will mark the first premiere in Hollywood history to use multi-screen digital technology. The screening will require the construction of four large outdoor movie screens at the second turn of the speedway.

In a prepared statement, Lasseter says, "We're thrilled to bring the premiere of CARS to Lowe's Motor Speedway and excited to share this film with such a great community of race fans."

He cites the assistance of Humpy Wheeler, president and general manager of the speedway, for help in the development of the film. Wheeler also provides the voice of Tex, a 1975 Cadillac Coupe de Ville.

The racetrack is owned by Speedway Motorsports Inc. (NYSE:TRK) of Concord.

Ah, it is on the 26th. I found it.

Hey, if it is on the 26th and you thought it was the 28th maybe you have the date wrong and you can still do both??????

Thanks. Dawn

I may be in the minority but since your talking T-Ball, I say go to the movie!!

IIRC when my dd's did T-ball we had about 4 T-ball games per week and like a hundred kids on the team LOL. No seroiusly if your team has lots of kids like ours did missing one is ok in my book. Now I am all for teaching respect for the team but with 5yo kids, t-ball, no scoring and since the goal of the game is to have fun anyway I say hit the movie.
