We will be there for Cars Land opening day, staying offsite, does anyone have any strategies on how to get rides done and in what order?

If you only want to ride each one once, I'd say get a Radiator Springs Racers FP ASAP. Then hit up Luigis and then Maters. However, the lines will be really really long so it might take a couple hours to fit in these 3 rides, even with a RSR FP.

Get there early! As early as possible! I know I'll be camping out the night before in the line...so maybe I'll see you in the crowds :upsidedow

Seriously? People are going to be camping out?

People camped out to get into DL for One More Disney Day, a day that they already had 24 hours to stay inside the park and was absolutely nothing new inside of it.

If they are going to camp out for that, believe me they will definitely camp out for this!

ill be camping out in our room at the Grand Californian and entering via the private entrance to DCA, crazy to think that 1000's would be doing this.

You don't know DLR, do you? The line to get into DCA on June 15 will be forever long. Thousands of people will be there by 6AM. If you show up at 8AM you will be behind a ton of people. But that will be your only choice if you want to ride these rides on June 15. I suspect the lines for low capacity LFT and MJJ will be 3+ hours long starting by 8:30AM. RSR will be 4+ hours long. You will be lucky to fit all three rides into one day.

For anyone who wants to attempt it like our young DLR29, treat it like a fun party. Like NYE on Times Square or something or the Super Bowl. Crazy crowded but a cool day to be at DLR because it is historic.

Wow I'm going opening day and I'm pretty prepared for it to be slammed, but if MJJ and LFT is 3+ hour long 30 mins after opening, that would be insane!!! At the moment we definitely plan to do RSR at opening and trying to grab a FP if its open. We were thinking about trying to do both the other rides but now with LFT not getting great reviews, will probably skip that one for later and just do MJJ that morning. BUt yeah if its past 2 hours that soon I doubt we would do that one so soon as well. We'll see what happens but my threshold for doing those other rides is about 90 min waits at opening.

LFT has a capacity like Dumbo of 500 per hour. MJJ is only a little better at 800 (like Nemo). The only thing you have going for you is there are three rides to split the crowds and not just one like Nemo in 2007. Maybe I am being pessimistic. But a mere 1500 people for LFT will be three hours. And with the thousands of people outside the gates at 8AM I suspect I am close to what will really happen. Shortly after 8AM the lines will be overwhelming.

Would going on June 17 make any difference? That weekend is the last weekend I"ll be here before moving up North permanetly and I really want to show DBF all the rides in Radiator Springs before we leave Sunday night. I guess I was naive and was expecting to come at 8am on Friday morning and not have that many issues. Some schools including mine are still in session right now and that's our last week so I guess I wasn't expecting it to be crazy at 8am in the morning.

No, you could be right, I just never thought about how crazy it could get! I suspect it could reach 3 hour crowds, but didnt think it could happen less than an hour after opening. If it gets that insane that quickly then most likely I will skip out on these rides. I'm a local and have a PAP, I can ALWAYS come back lol. But it will be interesting to watch the chaos up front!

Actually June 17th might be WORSE than June 15th. For one thing its Sunday and so that means a lot of locals who had to work on Friday will be most likely be showing up on the weekend. The other, more important reason is APs will not be blocked except the lowest pass, so thats going to create a lot more attendees. On the 15th, both the lower passes are blocked out. And since for many of people who have APs will be blocked out for 6 weeks once June ends, I suspect they will try hard to see it on those days since its the only chance to do it until end of August.

My advice is if you dont go on the 15th, then Saturday will probably be a little better crowd wise than Sunday! But honestly that entire weekend is going to be slammed regardless! It could be slammed for a full week!

Does anyone know what time people started lining up for Leap Year Day? Maybe that will help people decide what time to start camping out.

I think on Leap Day they started the official line at like 9PM the previous day (but I'm sure the first people were waiting around before then). I saw a pic of the line in the morning and it stretched from the security tents to almost Harbor. I expect the Carsland line to be much longer. :scared1: Maybe they'll have it on the other side so it goes all the way down Downtown Disney.

We all know DCA is going to be slammed come June 15th...maybe the rides at DL will all be walk on.

It's going to be slammed every day for a long time.

I would love to see pics of the craziness.
