Cars Land opening day strategy

Here's my strategy.

hahaha
I am afraid that is in fact too much to hope. It will be busy but IMO more focused on DCA's new areas.

:wizard:
 Well, thanks for being realistic at least. I am honestly dreading looking at MouseWait these next two weeks.

I don't think the fever is going to die down anytime soon. Many people, like myself are planning Halloween trips just because we bought APs before the price increase...otherwise I don't think we would be going there for the 2nd time this year.

I have Mouse waits on my phone too, so i would be very interested in seeing what is going on.

I will explore all of CL and I am sure I will miss some details, but then that is more reason to come back...like I needed another one.

Wow I'm going opening day and I'm pretty prepared for it to be slammed, but if MJJ and LFT is 3+ hour long 30 mins after opening, that would be insane!!! At the moment we definitely plan to do RSR at opening and trying to grab a FP if its open. We were thinking about trying to do both the other rides but now with LFT not getting great reviews, will probably skip that one for later and just do MJJ that morning. BUt yeah if its past 2 hours that soon I doubt we would do that one so soon as well. We'll see what happens but my threshold for doing those other rides is about 90 min waits at opening.

Finding anemone submarines had a 4hr wait for months after opening. I expect to hours of AT LEAST 120 minutes for ALL of June and July at the very least. All day long.

If you are not staying on site, you will want to arrive at the parking structure by 1:00 AM. Since the structure is opening at 2 AM, this should put you near the front of the line; however, it may not.

If you are staying on site, take advantage of early entry, I believe they are not officially offering early entry at DCA until the following monday, but they will still most likely admit hotel guests 30 minutes before opening.

Just wanted to post in here very quickly. We ended up doing the AP preview of CL yesterday, and man, was it amazing. It honestly surpassed my expectations!! It was so much fun! I think even though it's going to be stupid crowded, everyone is still going to have a great time!! :)

Thanks for the info! I have a question, though. I have reservations at the Disneyland Hotel from the 15th to the 18th. I was planning on camping out the night before, and arriving right about 1AM (driving down from Northern California.) Do you think I would get early entry if I checked in in the early morning? Do you think they're going to let hotel guest in at 7:30 for the opening ceremony or just a half hour before the park opens early? Is there any word if guests are going to be let in for the ceremony at all? I guess I had a few questions! ;)

I don't think they are doing early entry at the parks until 6/18. Not that I've seen anyway.

Actually thats not completely true about the subs. I was there about 6 weeks after it opened and stood in a 90 minute line. It was definitely busy but it was between 1-2 hours on most days after the first few weeks of the summer. It mightve had 4 hour waits in SOME periods during the summer, but definitely not the common wait time.

As for LFT, you could be right because it ONLY takes in 400 people an hour which is ridiculous! Like I said if its longer than 2 hours, no way am I doing it. Majority of the reviews are saying its a waste of time. But there are ways around it at the same time. Do the MM and hit it first thing OR just wait until the end of the night before closing. But honestly not a rush. Have an AP and live 30 mins away. This thing will be there...at least a year if not much longer than that lol.

Has anyone seen anything from Disney about the "rules" for lining up for Friday?

Nope. And I'm stalking multiple internet forums. The only thing that I saw that looked anything like information was the post above from cmwade77 about the Mickey & Friends parking structure opening at 2AM. But I don't see that confirmed anywhere else. He also posted something about thinking that on-property guests would be let in 30 minutes early on Friday that I jumped on, but that's nowhere on the web either. I'm driving down from Northern California and I don't know whether to leave at 3PM to get there at 9, 6PM to get there at midnight, or whether to bag it completely and just drive down in the morning and sleep in my own bed. :confused3 Incredibly frustrating!

Now a 4 hour standby and 2 hour FP return.

ETA also a 60 minute wait for Single Rider.

All for RSR
