Does anyone have a better date other than 2012? We want to take our boys next summer, but don't know which month or if we should delay it to 2013. TIA!

Seems like the new attractions are the last weekend in May or the first two weeks of June. The summer season in years past has always kicked off around June 13th or so. To be safe you should plan later towards mid June which will also be the time DL is in full swing as kids are out of school.

I don't think we will see an official date until it is closer to being finished. They wouldn't want to say a date and then be completely off. I imagine their goal is for the start of summer 2012 but anything can happen to change that in the next year.

Thank you both! I agree. I think early June is probably the target date, but even Disney can't predict delays and such.

I would prefer a June date, but could do July or August too. What is the weather like then and more importantly, how are the crowds? We are from Texas and it is hot and humid, more like Florida, so just about anything is better than here in July and August. :faint:

Crowds at either time will be HUGE, because Carsland is going to bring in lots of people. So as long as school is out, there isn't a question, it's going to be busy.

Weather will be cooler in June, but still hot. Though the mild humidity in Anahiem summers probably won't even phase you.

Yeah, I am thinking the crowds will be horrific. Wonder if they will be manageable by March 2013...

Spring break crowds are worse than summer crowds. But obviously with Cars Land opening, that might not be true for that year. But don't expect low crowds in March unless you go very early on, before everyone starts having spring break. I would normally say July is a pretty good time to visit without having too huge of crowds but 2012 might be a different story.

And the humidity here is very low, especially compared to FL so that shouldn't be a problem.

We are planning our "Carsland Trip" for September. By then most of the kids will be back in school and even with delays it should be open by then and most of the bugs worked out... Opening a whole new land is going to come with ups & downs at first as well as huge crowds all summer I would imagine.

I agree with the PPs. Late June should be safe. Your best best is to choose target dates and remain flexible on dates should something change by 2012.

Temps look great! After dealing with 100 degree summer temps those look like heaven!

Late June it is, then, unless we end up planning it for 2013.

Thanks for all the help y'all!

The weather will be pleasant ~ as for crowds I think they'll be tolerable so long as APs are blocked ~ I don't the think the average vacationer to DLR is gonna be super excited to see Cars Land. Guests from out of town who visit in the summertime will come just because they want to. We visited over the 4th of July weekend last year *most APs were blocked and we had a great time ~ same thing as Thanksgiving weekend *not the days prior - Turkey Day, Fri & Sat.

We'll see around Chirstmas. I'm willing to bet that marketing will be pushing people from everywhere west of the continental divide to visit DLR for Carsland.
