I went to the TSA site posted here and I see the info about no "gels, liquids, etc." Nothing about cell phones, iPods, laptops, etc. Does anyone know if that is just flights from England, or if in fact, you are not allowed to carry on those devices on any flights right now. I know I heard mention of this on the news but can't seem to find a definitive answer.

I found this on the MSNBC website. Of course, things could change. I would check with your carrier.

New measures in place Thursday
— Liquids are banned from carry-on luggage and cannot be taken through security checkpoints. That includes drinks, toothpaste, perfume, shampoo, hair gel, suntan lotion and similar items. Drinks purchased in the airport cannot be carried onto flights.
— Baby formula and medications will be allow but must be presented for inspection at security checkpoints.
— All shoes must be removed and placed on an X-ray belt for screening.
— Passengers are also asked to arrive at least two hours early to allow for additional screening.
— Passengers traveling to the United Kingdom should contact their airline for information about any extra security measures or precautions that might be required. Laptop computers, mobile phones and iPods were among items banned on British flights.

Thanks for the info......I was pretty sure that those extra precautions were just for UK flights, but I couldn't seem to find it for sure.

Here is from NJ Dept. of Homeland Security email I received today. ( I am in the security industry).

Security Measures Taken:* Due to the increased threat level, all pre-cautionary measures have been taken at all bus, rail and air terminals throughout the US and New Jersey.* At all airports, NO LIQUIDS OR GELS OF ANY KIND WILL BE PERMITTED IN CARRY ON BAGGAGE. ITEMS MUST BE IN CHECKED BAGGAGE. This includes all beverages, shampoo, sun tan lotion, creams, tooth paste, hair gel, and other items of similar consistency. Exception: Baby formula and medicines must be presented for inspection at the checkpoint. Travelers in the USshould expect increased security measures at airports as well as flight delays and/or cancellations. USFederal Air Marshals are being sent to the UK, and further Advanced Response Teams will be implemented.

Looks like you just can't carry these things on with you at this time. This is due to the fact that the explosive that was supposed to be used was in liquid form.

Just check on say: www.yahoo.com or msn.com or go to TSA.gov
They are keeping folks updated quite well.

So far only the UK-US flights are red, other international-U.S. flights and the domestic US flights are orange.

Brits may want to consider leaving the laptop home and bring just diskettes (or escape from the world of computing completely for a week or so).

Do kids really need to be pushing buttons on game boys while at Disney? Seems like a waste of vacation time. Leave those things at home too.

For those with rental cars, going out of Disney from Downtown Disney via Hotel Plaze Blvd. go left at end onto 535, straight at next light breaking away from 535, half a block on the right is a small plaza with a Kinko's type business center with computers, also a budget priced Chinese buffet. (Another budget Chinese buffet on the inside corner if you went left not breaking away from 535. A budget Shoneys American buffet on the right on the way back from the business center.) You can also take I-4 east (northeast) to 535 north (northwest).

>>> supposed to be in liquid form
Doesn't nitroglycerin look like water?
