carrying on/off luggage

This is our first cruise--2 weeks from yesterday : ) . My question is are you allowed to take on your own luggage and to take it off. We will be driving our rental vehicle to Port Canaveral, and parking it there. thanks! i've enjoyed all the tips.

how much luggage do you have - and how big is it - i believe that they scan the luggage & what you carry on should be the same size as what is scanned at the airport - also larger suitcases would be a hassle since the rooms are not ready when you first get on board - and you would have to take the luggage with you - for one of our cruises we only had a small duffle bag & small knapsack (we took a quick getaway) and that wasn't hard to bring on -

we are doing a 3 night cruise, have 2 adults and 1 16 year old. We have all rolling luggage, and will pack tightly. What do you think?
