Carrying ID On Ship

We’re about a month away from our fourteen day cruise! I was looking at lanyards to buy, thinking I would only have one card in it (my KTTW card) & if the lanyard somehow broke it wouldn’t be the end of the world if I had to get that card replaced.

Then I realized that I may need to carry my ID on the ship for alcohol purchases & definitely wouldn’t want that falling out of a cheaply made lanyard!

So, is there really a need to carry an ID? Will they take my word for my age? Will they accept the age on the KTTW or want a photo ID?

The KTTW card is all you'll need. The photo I.D. you show when you check in at the cruise terminal will verify your age before your KTTW card is printed. The card will have an "A" on it if you're an adult, or an "M" for minor.

And a “B” for 18-20yo. When they scan the card, a picture shows up so they know the card was handed out by the person it belongs to.

Onboard ship you will not need an ID because, as mentioned, your Key to the World Card indicates age group and links to a photo taken at embarkation.

Technically, you are required to have an ID when returning to the ship at Castaway Cay (as well as other ports). I have rarely been asked to show ID when boarding at Castaway Cay, but the Navigator says that guests 18 and older will need photo ID when disembarking. So, you may want a different way of carrying your Key to the World card there.

Thank you! I was wondering if a photo would pop up. Glad it does and that I won't have to carry my ID around!

I'll have a bag or backpack in all ports, so that's not too much of an issue!
